  1. 41. Effects of kinship and timing in familial cancer

    Författare :Myeongjee Lee; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Family cancer history is one of the most important risk factors for cancer. We investigated in depth the effect of family cancer history, in particular, the effects of kinship and timing on cancer incidence and prognosis using Swedish population-based registers. LÄS MER

  2. 42. Long-term Morbidity and Socioeconomic Outcome among Nordic Childhood Cancer Survivors

    Författare :Anna Sällfors-Holmqvist; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Childhood cancer survivors; late complications; morbidity; late socioeconomic effects;

    Sammanfattning : Survival after childhood cancer has improved dramatically during the past four decades, resulting in a five-year survival rate of 80% in children recently treated for cancer in the Nordic countries. However, these advances in treatment and survival has come at a price, and many survivors face significant treatment-induced sequelae, most of which only become clinically apparent many years after the child has been cured. 3. 43. Metabolic effects and long-term safety of childhood growth hormone treatment

    Författare :Anders Tidblad; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate the metabolic effects and long-term safety of childhood growth hormone (GH) treatment. In order to achieve this aim, the different projects consist of a two-part clinical trial on metabolic features linked to GH physiology and GH treatment as well as two large population-based cohort studies with focus on the long-term cardiovascular and cancer risks in previously GH-treated patients. 4. 44. The interactome of the Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 5 suggests novel roles in RNA and protein metabolism

    Författare :Josefine Ekholm; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Epstein-Barr virus; EBNA5; chaperone; proteasome; nucleolus;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a human herpes virus that infects B and epithelial cells of the oropharynx. EBV is transmitted by saliva and establishes a lifelong latency in over 90% of the world's population. During latency, the virus exists predominantly as multicopy episomes in the nuclei of memory B cells. LÄS MER

  5. 45. The Epstein-Barr nuclear antigens 1 & 5; Study of virus-host cellular protein interactions

    Författare :Alma Forsman; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epstein-Barr virus; EBNA1; EBNA5; EBNA-LP; cellular network; virus-host protein interactions;

    Sammanfattning : The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is the causative agent or cofactor in the aetiology of several human malignancies such as Burkitt’s lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and lymphoproliferative disorder in immunocompromised patients. EBV is a lymphotropic γ-herpes virus infecting more than 90 percent of the population worldwide. LÄS MER
