  1. 6. AC losses in HTS as a function of magnetic fields with arbitrary directions

    Författare :Anna Wolfbrandt; Sven Hörnfeldt; Ole Tönnessen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronics; High-temperatur superconductors; AC loss modelling; hysteresis; E - J characteristic; Elektronik; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Sammanfattning : Although a superconductor has zero resistivity when carrying a direct current, losses do occur when it is exposed to an alternating magnetic field and/or is carrying an alternating current. The magnitude of these so-called AC losses depends on the operating temperature, the amplitude and the direction of the magnetic field, the transport current, and the frequency. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Reshaping the phase diagram of YBa2Cu3O7-δ through strain in ultrathin films and nanowires

    Författare :Eric Wahlberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phase-slip; strange metal; High-Tc superconductors; thin-films; underdoped; nanowires; YBCO; charge density wave;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims at adding important pieces to the puzzle of understanding the physics of the High critical Temperature Superconductor (HTS) cuprates, where despite over 30 years of intense research many open questions remain. The HTS cuprates are characterized by an incredibly complex phase diagram with multiple intertwined local orders, such as charge density waves (CDW). LÄS MER

  3. 8. Multiple Andreev Reflection - a Microscopic Theory of ac Josephson Effect in Mesoscopic Junctions

    Författare :Göran Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; high-Tc superconductors; d-wave symmetry; superconducting junctions; resonant tunneling; ac Josephson effect; mesoscopic superconductivity;

    Sammanfattning : The mechanism of multiple Andreev reflection (MAR) is a microscopic theory for electron transport in voltage biased superconducting junctions, i.e. the ac Josephson effect. In this thesis we propose a new approach for calculating the dc current from MAR. LÄS MER
