  1. 6. Graft-versus-Host Disease: Eosinophils, Chimerism and Clinical Features in Patients Undergoing Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell or Multivisceral Transplantation

    Författare :Julia Cromvik; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; graft-versus-host disease; eosinophilic granulocyte; intestinal transplantation; multivisceral transplantation; chimerism analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a potentially severe complication that may develop after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). It can also occur after transplantation with isolated intestinal grafts or after multivisceral transplantation (MVTX). GVHD is difficult to diagnose. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Free Fatty Acid Receptor 2 - A G protein coupled receptor with unique signaling properties in neutrophils

    Författare :Simon Lind; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neutrophils; G protein coupled receptors; Free Fatty Acid Receptor 2; GPR43; Allosteric modulation; Transactivation; Cross-talk; Biased signalling; Functional selectivity;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the PhD thesis was to determine the role of neutrophil pattern recognition receptors in the initiation and resolution of inflammatory processes. Neutrophil pattern recognition receptors such as the formyl peptide receptors (FPRs) and the short free fatty acid receptors (FFARs) belong to the family of G protein coupled receptors (GPCR). 3. 8. The role of melanocortin 1 receptor in kidney disease

    Författare :Annika Lindskog Jonsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; nephrotic syndrome; proteinuria; adrenocorticotropic hormone; melanocortin 1 receptor; podocytes;

    Sammanfattning : Nephrotic syndrome is a term describing a group of poorly understood glomerular diseases that are responsible for a steadily increasing number of patients requiring active uremic care. Characteristic symptoms of nephrotic syndrome are proteinuria, hypoalbuminemia, hyperlipidemia and peripheral edema, and treatment of these symptoms, rather than their cause, is currently the only option available to the clinician. 4. 9. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma - proteomic and metabolomic studies on prognosis and treatment failure

    Författare :Martin Stenson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; DLBCL; prognostics; proteomics; metabolomics;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Background and aim: Every year almost 600 patients in Sweden are diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), the most common lymphoma, and with immunochemotherapy, approximately 60 % are cured. Yet, for patients with primary refractory disease or early relapse, the prognosis is very poor. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Female sex hormones and health outcomes in women with specific focus on asthma

    Författare :Guo-Qiang Zhang; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; asthma; Bayesian estimation; case-control; causal inference; estrogens; female sex hormones; hormonal contraceptives; menarche; menopausal hormone therapy; menopause; meta-analysis; multiple imputation; progestogens; research reproducibility; robust variance estimation; systematic review; umbrella review; women;

    Sammanfattning : In humans, gender differences exist across a wide spectrum of diseases. For instance, women are more likely to develop Sjogren’s syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, and autoimmune thyroid disease compared to men. LÄS MER
