16. Railway operation analysis : Evaluation of quality, infrastructure and timetable on single and double-track lines with analytical models and simulation
Sammanfattning : This thesis shows the advantages of simple models for analysis of railway operation. It presents two tools for infrastructure and timetable planning. It shows how the infrastructure can be analysed through fictive line designs, how the timetable can be treated as a variable and how delays can be used as performance measures. LÄS MER
17. Spatial forest resource competition: an economic study : How increased competition and production flexibility affect woody feedstock markets
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the Swedish forestry and forest industry sectors, together with their adjoining markets, and examines how these sectors are currently positioned to meet future developments and demands. For this purpose, four specific research questions are formulated, focusing on: (1) the structural composition of forest industry sector and how it will be affected by an increasing feedstock competition; (2) the production flexibility of the forest industry; (3) the resource allocation and price effects from increased feedstock competition; and (4) the potential implications from improved harvesting efficiency. 18. Assessment of Robustness in Railway Traffic Timetables
Sammanfattning : A tendency seen for the last decades in many European railway networks is a growing demand for capacity. An increased number of operating trains has led to a delay sensitive system where it is hard to recover from delays, where even relatively small delays are easily propagating to other traffic. 19. The Development of Conversational Contingency : and Selected Pragmatic Abilities
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to examine children’s development as language users, with a focus on their development as conversationalists. Conversational development was measured through conversational contingency, i.e. how conversational turns are connected to each other, either in topic or time. LÄS MER
20. Energy in supermarkets - An overview on the energy flows and refrigeration controls
Sammanfattning : The electrical energy used by supermarkets represents approximately 3% of Sweden's annual energy use. Of this, the refrigeration system accounts for 50%. To reduce greenhouse gases introduced by energy generation, a larger share of renewable energy sources must be implemented. LÄS MER
