  1. 11. Fatigue Analysis of Welded Structures Using the Finite Element Method

    Författare :Mustafa Aygül; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hot spot stress; effective notch stress; the finite element method; orthotropic bridge deck; welded details;

    Sammanfattning : Fatigue design and analysis of steel and composite bridges is generally based on the notion of the nominal stress using the classified S-N curves with corresponding fatigue classes for typical details. Such an approach can yield unrealistic the estimation of the load effects for structure components because of an ever increasing number of structural details and loading situations resulting in a limited number of possible treatable design cases. 2. 12. Fatigue evaluation of welded details – using the finite element method

    Författare :Mustafa Aygül; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; the finite element method; welded details; effective notch stress method; Hot-spot stress method; fracture mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : The fatigue evaluation of welded details is generally based on the notion of nominal stress, using the classified S-N curves with corresponding fatigue classes for typical details. An approach of this kind should be used with extra caution to ensure that the load effects for components are accurately captured, because an ever-increasing number of welded details are resulting in a limited number of possible treatable design cases. 3. 13. Structural Behaviour in Concrete Frame Corners of Civil Defence Shelters Non-linear Finite Element Analyses and Experiments

    Författare :Morgan Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; blast load; non-linear finite element analyses; reinforcement detailing; spliced reinforcement; frame corners; civil defence shelters; impact load; concrete;

    Sammanfattning : From a safety point of view it is important that a concrete structure, apart from necessary load capacity, also is able to show ductile behaviour that allows redistribution of forces so that a local failure not lead to total collapse of the structure. A structure's ability to exhibit such behaviour is highly dependent on the reinforcement detailing of the joint connections between its independent members. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Finite Element Analysis of Sheet Metal Assemblies : Prediction of Product Performance Considering the Manufacturing Process

    Författare :Alexander Govik; Larsgunnar Nilsson; Ramin Moshfegh; Mats Oldenburg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the development of methodologies to be used to simulate complete manufacturing chains of sheet components and the study of how different mechanical properties propagate and influence succeeding component performance.Since sheet metal assemblies are a major constituent of a wide range of products it is vital to develop methodologies that enable detailed evaluation of assembly designs and manufacturing processes. Författare :Karin Brolin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :neck injuries; finite element method; numerical analysis; cervical spine;

    Sammanfattning : Injuries to the neck, or cervical region, are very importantsince there is a potential risk of damage to the spinal cord.Any neck injury can have devastating if not life threateningconsequences. LÄS MER
