  1. 1. Structural Behaviour in Concrete Frame Corners of Civil Defence Shelters Non-linear Finite Element Analyses and Experiments

    Författare :Morgan Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; blast load; non-linear finite element analyses; reinforcement detailing; spliced reinforcement; frame corners; civil defence shelters; impact load; concrete;

    Sammanfattning : From a safety point of view it is important that a concrete structure, apart from necessary load capacity, also is able to show ductile behaviour that allows redistribution of forces so that a local failure not lead to total collapse of the structure. A structure's ability to exhibit such behaviour is highly dependent on the reinforcement detailing of the joint connections between its independent members. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Concrete flat slabs and footings : Design method for punching and detailing for ductility

    Författare :Carl Erik Broms; Håkan Sundquist; Mikael Hallgren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Construction engineering; bent-down bars; building codes; cyclic loading; deflection; ductility; earthquake; Byggnadsteknik; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Simple but still realistic physical models suitable for structural design of flat concrete plates and column footings with respect to punching are presented. Punching of a flat plate is assumed to occur when the concrete compression strain at the column edge due to the bending moment in the slab reaches a critical value that is considerably lower than the generally accepted ultimate compression strain 0. 4. 4. Application of Fracture Mechanics to Concrete Bridges. Finite element analyses and experiments

    Författare :Mario Plos; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; reinforced concrete; reinforcement splice; full-scale test; shear failure; fracture mechanics; fatigue test; static test; concrete frame corner; non-linear finite element analysis; concrete bridge;

    Sammanfattning : Material models based on fracture mechanics together with non-linear finite element analyses have been used in combination with experiments to study the behaviour of reinforced concrete bridges. The work covers two aspects of interest in the design of concrete bridges.* The shear behaviour was studied in full-scale tests on two highway bridges. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Three-Dimensional Modelling of Bond in Reinforced Concrete Theoretical Model, Experiments and Applications

    Författare :Karin Lundgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; three-dimensional analysis; splitting effects; bond; finite element analysis; reinforced concrete; pull-out tests; non-linear fracture mechanics; frame corners; splicing of reinforcement; cyclic loading;

    Sammanfattning : The bond mechanism between deformed bars and concrete is known to be influenced by multiple parameters, such as the strength of the surrounding structure, the occurrence of splitting cracks in the concrete and the yielding of the reinforcement. However, when reinforced concrete structures are analysed using the finite element method, it is quite common to assume that the bond stress depends solely on the slip. LÄS MER
