  1. 41. Impact of climate variability on dynamic groundwater storage in mid- to high latitude countries

    Författare :Michelle Nygren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; climate change; time series analysis; groundwater statistics; Sweden; drought; cold region hydrogeology; groundwater memory;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change will alter the hydrological cycle, potentially changing dynamic groundwater storage and increasing groundwater drought risk. Climate influences groundwater storage directly via changes in groundwater recharge, but groundwater drought responsiveness further depends on groundwater system characteristics. LÄS MER

  2. 42. Dynamic shaping of human NK cell receptor repertoires : implications for NK cell-based immunotherapy

    Författare :Lisa Liu; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Natural killer (NK) cells are innate lymphocytes with a potent intrinsic capacity to kill tumor cells, which makes them attractive candidates for cell-based cancer immunotherapy. Advances during the past decade have revealed that NK cells display a high degree of functional plasticity, suggesting that some subsets may be more effective in targeting cancer cells. LÄS MER

  3. 43. Interphases in Polymer Blends

    Författare :Hans Eklind; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; morphology; interdiffusion; compatibilization; characterization; interfacial interaction; mobility; micromechanical transition; dynamic mechanical properties; interphase; polymer blend;

    Sammanfattning : The blending of polymers is a useful means of combining and improving the properties of already existing polymers in the development of new materials at reasonable cost. As most polymers are immiscible with each other, heterogeneous blends are often formed. The properties of such blends are strongly determined by the properties of the interphase. LÄS MER

  4. 44. Towards Optimization of Railway Turnouts

    Författare :Björn Pålsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dynamic vehicle–track interaction; turnout; switch crossing; wheel and rail wear;

    Sammanfattning : The turnout (Switch & Crossing) is a vital component in railway networks as it provides flexibility to traffic operation by allowing trains to switch between tracks. The flexibility comes at a cost as the common lack of a transition curve in the diverging route together with the variation and discontinuities in rail profiles result in higher rail degradation rates than in regular track. 5. 45. Towards Model-Based Condition Monitoring of Railway Switches and Crossings

    Författare :Marko Milosevic; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sleeper void; Switches crossings; condition indicators; embedded sleeper accelerometer; multi-body simulations; dynamic vehicle–track interaction; MBS; S C; wheel–rail contact forces; condition monitoring; crossing rail geometry; displacement reconstruction.; model calibration;

    Sammanfattning : Railway switches and crossings (S&C, turnouts) connect different track sections and create a railway network by allowing for trains to change between tracks. This functionality comes at a cost as the load-inducing rail discontinuities in the switch and crossing panels cause much higher degradation rates for S&C compared to regular plain line track. LÄS MER
