26. May the power be with you : managing power-performance tradeoffs in cloud data centers
Sammanfattning : The overall goal of the work presented in this thesis was to find ways of managing power-performance tradeoffs in cloud data centers. To this end, the relationships between the power consumption of data center servers and the performance of applications hosted in data centers are analyzed, models that capture these relationships are developed, and controllers to optimize the use of data center infrastructures are proposed. 27. Analysis of Retroreflection and other Properties of Road Signs
Sammanfattning : Road traffic signs provide regulatory, warning, guidance, and other important information to road users to prevent hazards and road accidents. Therefore, the traffic signs must be detectable, legible, and visible both in day and nighttime to fulfill their purpose. The nighttime visibility is critical to safe driving on the roads at night. 28. Power Estimation and Multi-Phase Clock Generation for the Deep Submicron Era
Sammanfattning : Scaling has been the driving force behind the immense development the field of electronics has seen over the last few decades. It has brought us from integrated circuits operating in the kilohertz range in the 1970s to the gigahertz range in just thirty years. LÄS MER
29. Efficient Implementation and Analysis of CMOS Arithmetic Circuits
Sammanfattning : With the latter part of the last century in mind, it is not hard to imagine that in the foreseeable future there will be a never-ending demand for increased data processing capability. In addition, there will be a larger public wish for a versatile mobile device such as a combined computer, phone, and camera with many hours of operation. LÄS MER
30. Resource Augmentation for Performance Guarantees in Embedded Real-time Systems
Sammanfattning : Real-time scheduling policies have been widely studied, with many known schedulability and feasibility analysis techniques for different task models, that have advanced the state-of-the-art. Most of these techniques are typically derived under the assumption of negligible runtime overheads which may not be realistic for modern embedded real-time systems, and hence potentially compromises the guarantees on their correct behaviors.
