  1. 1. Traffic and Road Sign Recognition

    Författare :Hasan Fleyeh; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :Traffic signs; color segmentation; recognition;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a system to recognise and classify road and traffic signs for the purpose of developing an inventory of them which could assist the highway engineers’ tasks of updating and maintaining them. It uses images taken by a camera from a moving vehicle. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Smartphone-based Parkinson’s disease symptom assessment

    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Parkinson’s disease; symptom assessment; spiral; tapping; smartphone; temporal irregularity; timing variability; approximate entropy; ; FLOAT - Flexibel levodopa-optimerings och individanpassningsteknik; FLOAT - Flexible Levodopa Optimizing Assistive Technology; Mikrodataanalys; Microdata Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four research papers presenting a microdata analysis approach to assess and evaluate the Parkinson’s disease (PD) motor symptoms using smartphone-based systems. PD is a progressive neurological disorder that is characterized by motor symptoms. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Who benefits when IKEA enters local markets in Sweden? : An empirical assessment using difference-in-difference analysis, synthetic control methods, and Twitter sentiment analysis

    Författare :Yujiao Li; Mark Dougherty; Hasan Fleyeh; Moudud Alam; Oana Mihaescu; Per Johansson; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; big-box entry effect; spatial spill-over effect; heterogeneous causal effect; difference-in-difference; synthetic control method; sentiment analysis.; Complex Systems – Microdata Analysis; Komplexa system - mikrodataanalys; Mikrodataanalys; Microdata Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Policy makers often spend considerable amounts of money to attract IKEA to their region despite not having any empirical measurements on its expected contribution to the local economy. As such, an empirical study of the economic and social impact of new IKEA stores can aid political decision making, and contribute to the literature regarding how big-box retail entry affects the regions where they enter. 4. 4. Developing decision support systems for last mile transportation problems

    Författare :Vijay Paidi; Johan Håkansson; Hasan Fleyeh; Roger G. Nyberg; Vitaly Komashilov; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; parking spaces; attended handovers; user satisfaction; pollution; business opportunities; Complex Systems – Microdata Analysis; Komplexa system - mikrodataanalys; Mikrodataanalys; Microdata Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Last mile transportation is the most problematic phase of transportation needing additional research and effort. Longer waits or search times, lack of navigational directions and real-time information are some of the common problems associated with last mile transportation. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Artificial Intelligence for Non-Contact-Based Driver Health Monitoring

    Författare :Hamidur Rahman; Mobyen Uddin Ahmed; Shahina Begum; Peter Funk; Hasan Fleyeh; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Driver Monitoring; Artificial Intelligence; Machine Learning; Deep Learning; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : In clinical situations, a patient’s physical state is often monitored by sensors attached to the patient, and medical staff are alerted if the patient’s status changes in an undesirable or life-threatening direction. However, in unsupervised situations, such as when driving a vehicle, connecting sensors to the driver is often troublesome and wired sensors may not produce sufficient quality due to factors such as movement and electrical disturbance.
