1. Charge carrier dynamics in colloidal quantum dots: Tracking the dance of electrons and holes by ultrashort laser pulses
Sammanfattning : Quantum dots (QDs) are semiconductor nanocrystals with quantum confinement. This thesis uses various time-resolved spectroscopic techniques to study ultrafast charge carrier dynamics in colloidal CdSe quantum dots that are important both from a theoretical point of view and for their relevance for solar cell applications. 2. Fabrication and Photoelectrochemical Applications of II-VI Semiconductor Nanomaterials
Sammanfattning : In this work we investigated fabrication of semiconductor nanomaterials and evaluated their potential for photo-chemical and photovoltaic applications. We investigated different II-VI semiconductor nanomaterial systems; (i) ZnO oriented nanowire arrays non-epitaxially grown from a substrate; and (ii) colloidal CdE (E=Te,Se,S) quantum structures synthesized by solution-based thermal decomposition of organo-metallic precursors. 3. Coherent Multidimensional Spectroscopy: Development of Efficient Data Acquisition and Analyses of Quantum Dot 2D Spectra
Sammanfattning : Coherent multidimensional spectroscopy (CMDS) is the most complete nonlinear optical technique based on the interaction of multiple short laser pulses with matter. It has grown to play a significant role in studies of optoelectronic materials and pigment protein complexes. LÄS MER

5. Time-Resolved Optical Properties of Colloidal CdSe-CdS/ZnS Core-Multishell Quantum Dots in Bioimaging
Sammanfattning : Semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) have attracted great attention as a novel fluorescent material in the last twenty years. Their superior optical properties such as high brightness and photostability, broad absorption spectrum, narrow and size-tunable emission spectrum, enable them great application in bioimaging. LÄS MER
