  1. 21. Endovascular occlusion methods in non-traumatic cardiac arrest

    Författare :Emanuel M. Dogan; Tal M. Hörer; Kristofer F. Nilsson; Birger Axelsson; Lars Wik; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cardiac arrest; cardiopulmonary resuscitation; REBOA; intra-aortic balloon pump;

    Sammanfattning : Approximately 10% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patients survive to hospital discharge. An important factor for survival is perfusion to the coronary and cerebral circulations during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). LÄS MER

  2. 22. Cardiac Arrest – mechanical chest compressions, gender differences and coronary angiography

    Författare :Erik Lindgren; Sten Rubertsson; Theresa M Olasveengen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cardiac arrest; OHCA; IHCA; CPR; coronary angiography; percutaneous coronary intervention; PCI; mechanical chest compressions; lucas; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care;

    Sammanfattning : Cardiac arrest is a major health problem with over 6000 cases of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and 2500 cases of in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) per year in Sweden. Survival are low. Many factors affect the chances of survival, including effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation and optimal post resuscitation care. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Influence of The Education and Training of Prehospital Medical Crews on Measures of Performance and Patient Outcomes

    Författare :Hans Blomberg; Rolf Gedeborg; Jakob Johansson; Karl Michaelsson; Eldar Søreide; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ambulance; prehospital; education; CPR; stroke; trauma; outcome;

    Sammanfattning : Prehospital care has developed dramatically the last decades with the implementation of new devices and educational concepts. Clinical decisions and treatments have moved out from the hospitals to the prehospital setting. In Sweden this has been accompanied by an increase in the level of competence, i.e. LÄS MER

  4. 24. The fight against time in prehospital cardiac arrest - a true medical emergency

    Författare :Johan Holmén; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cardiac arrest; cardiopulmonary resuscitation; prehospital; out-of-hospital;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Background: The chances of survival after an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) are one in ten. The majority of survivors have no or relatively mild neurological sequelae. Interventions are time critical and well-timed management is challenging. LÄS MER

  5. 25. The epidemiology of cardiac arrest - In-hospital risk assessment, treatment and outcome

    Författare :Anna Adielsson; Göteborgs universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : AIM: To describe and analyse sudden cardiac arrest, both in hospital and out of hospital, from an epidemiological perspective, by early prediction, by comparing changes over time in relation to aetiology, characteristics, treatment, survival or mortality and by identifying factors associated with outcome. METHODS: This thesis is based on four observational studies, including patient information from the Swedish Registry for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, in and out of hospital, and from a local registry on medical emergency team assessment at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
