  1. 6. Early detection of major surgical postoperative complications evaluated by microdialysis

    Författare :Tal Hörer; Kjell Janson; Lars Norgren; Bengt Jeppsson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; aortic occlusion balloon; anastomotic leakage; glycerol; intraabdominal hypertension; intraperitoneal microdialysis; intestinal ischemia; intraabdominal metabolism; lactate pyruvate ratio; postoperative complications; ruptured abdominal aortic anerusym; Kirurgi; Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Major abdominal surgery may be followed by postoperative complications, especially in the elderly and patients with co morbidities as diabetes mellitus and obesity. Some of the most feared complications as anastomotic leakage, abdominal infections, abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) and intestinal ischemia can lead to sepsis, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) with high morbidity and mortality. 2. 7. Open abdomen therapy with vacuum-assisted wound closure and mesh-mediated fascial traction

    Författare :Thordur Bjarnason; Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Open abdomen; laparostomy; VAWC; NPWT; TNP; VAWCM; classification;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Several life-threatening intra-abdominal conditions may be treated with open abdomen (OA) therapy. Potential complications to OA treatment include damage to the exposed bowel resulting in enteric fistulas, and inability to close the abdomen afterwards resulting in large ventral hernias. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Experimental studies on Damage Control Surgery and Intraabdominal Hypertension

    Författare :Pia Olofsson; Thore Wikström; Kenth Johansson; Sten Lennquist; Fikri M Abu-Zidan; Louis Riddez; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Damage control surgery (DCS) offers an alternative to the traditional surgical management of complex or multiple injuries in critically injured patients. If a patient survives the initial phase of DCS, complications may occur, one of these being intraabdominal hypertension (IAH) and it´s potential development into the abdominal compartment syndrome.
