    Sammanfattning : The overall aim was to improve the knowledge and understanding of eating habits of older men with somatic diseases, and the men's perceptions about managing food-related habits, such as grocery shopping and cooking. Enterostatin is an appetite-regulating peptide released in the intestine in response to fat ingestion.     Sammanfattning : This thesis analyzes some of the mechanisms whereby cholecystokinin octapeptide (CCK-8) inhibits food intake in male rats. Depletion of monoamines using reserpine blocked the capacity for ingestive responses. These responses were restored in reserpinized rats by treatment with the non-competitive N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonist MK-801. LÄS MER
