Sammanfattning : Factors Affecting Coronary Flow in Children Elhadi H. Aburawi, MD, MSc, FRCPI, FRCPCH Division of Paediatric Cardiology, Department of Paediatrics, Lund University, Sweden Abstract Background: A number of inborn and exogenous factors influence the flow and function of the coronary arteries with possible consequences on the cardiovascular risk. 2. Postnatal Peer Counseling on Exclusive Breastfeeding of Low-birthweight Filipino Infants : Results of a Randomized Controlled Trial
Sammanfattning : In a Manila hospital, 204 mothers were randomized into three groups: two intervention groups receiving home-based counseling visits, one of them (n=68) by counselors trained to use a locally developed, two-tiered program of breastfeeding counseling, and the other by counselors trained in general childcare (n=67), were compared with a control group of mothers (n=69) who did not receive any counseling. 3. Heart rate variability and pacemaker treatment in children with Fontan circulation
Sammanfattning : Background: Fontan surgery is performed in children with univentricular heart defects. Arrhythmias are frequent complications, occasionally requiring pacemaker treatment. Previous data regarding indications and risk factors for pacemaker treatment in Fontan patients is limited and conflicting. LÄS MER
4. Effects of Delayed versus Early Cord Clamping on Healthy Term Infants
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study maternal and infant effects of delayed cord clamping (≥180 seconds, DCC) compared to early (≤10 seconds, ECC) in a randomised controlled trial. Practice and guidelines regarding when to clamp the cord vary globally, and different meta-analyses have shown contradictory conclusions on benefits and disadvantages of DCC and ECC. LÄS MER
5. Cardiac muscle injury in children and experimental animals. Reflections in ECG, especially high-resolution electrocardiography
Sammanfattning : Background and Methods: Signal-averaging ECG (SAECG), a bioelectrical processing method, is a further development of the conventional ECG. SAECG can detect voltage potentials in the microvolt range and provide a noise-reduced determination of QRS duration. Extended frequency spectra can be analysed. LÄS MER
