  1. 11. Plant Nanobionics : From Localized Carbon Capture to Precision Molecular Delivery

    Författare :Cyril Routier; Eleni Stavrinidou; Magnus Berggren; Seon-Yeong Kwak; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plant nanobionics; Nanoparticles; Chitosan-modified polyethyleneimine; Infiltration; CO2 capture; Photosynthesis;

    Sammanfattning : Photosynthesis is an evolutionary marvel that not only sustains plant life but also profoundly shaped the climatic conditions necessary for the development of other advanced forms of life and the ecosystems we know today. During photosynthesis, plants harness the energy of light to convert carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the main greenhouse gases, into sugars for the growth of both themselves and organisms that consume plants, and oxygen that sustains life on Earth. 2. 12. Targeting ALK and WIP1 : neuroblastoma precision medicine under development

    Författare :Diana Treis; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma is the childhood solid tumor accountable for the largest number of deaths, calling for improved treatment. Some genetic alterations are considered crucial in driving initiation and progression of neuroblastoma. These are usually associated with poor prognosis and are viewed as potential therapeutic targets. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Studies on Peripheral Nerve Regeneration: Microdispensing, Neurite Guidance and Galectins

    Författare :Per Gustavsson; Funktionell zoologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; vävnadskultur; histokemi; cytokemi; Histologi; tissue culture; histochemistry; cytochemistry; Histology; Schwann cells; sciatic nerve; dorsal root ganglia; DRG; neurite guidance; galectins; inkjet; microdispensing; peripheral nervous system; nerve regeneration; Animal physiology; Djurfysiologi; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis describes development of a microdispenser-based technique to create of protein patterns for neurite guidance. The same technique was also developed to allow direct positioning of dissociated cells, including neurons, on cell culture substrates. Finally the role of galectin-3 and 8 during nerve regeneration was investigated. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Aggregation of Plug-in Electric Vehicles in Power Systems for Primary Frequency Control

    Författare :Seyedmahdi Izadkhast; Mehrdad Ghandhari; Garcia-Gonzalez Pablo; Frias Pablo; Ignacio Egido Cortés; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aggregation; Plug-in Electric Vehicles; Primary Frequency Control; Aggregeren; Plug-in Elektrische Voertuigen; Primaire Reserve; Laddbara Bilar; Elnätet; Primär Frekvensreglering; Agregación; Vehículos Eléctricos Enchufables PEVs ; Control Primario de Frecuencia PFC ; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The number of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) is likely to increase in the near future and these vehicles will probably be connected to the electric grid most of the day time. PEVs are interesting options to provide a wide variety of services such as primary frequency control (PFC), because they are able to quickly control their active power using electronic power converters. 5. 15. Modeling normal and malignant hematopoiesis in vitro. To screen for extrinsic regulators and differentiation therapy

    Författare :Simon Hultmark; Avdelningen för molekylärmedicin och genterapi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; acute myeloid leukaemia; Hematologi; stem cells; differentiation induction; leukaemia; treatment; small molecule drugs; PKC; FLT3; shRNA; small molecule inhibitor; Small Molecule Libraries; MEK ERK pathway; natural product; co-culture; drug screening; combination therapy;

    Sammanfattning : The incredible thing with blood stem cells, also known as hematopoietic stem cells (HSC), is that they can restore normal hematopoiesis in patients that need a new blood system. Since a prerequisite for successful transplantation is immune compatibility, it requires large donor registries to find a suitable match for a recipient. LÄS MER
