  1. 1. Optimisation of Machining Operations by means of Finite Element Method and Tailored Experiments

    Detta är en avhandling från Chalmers University of Technology

    Författare :Amir Malakizadi; Chalmers tekniska högskola.; Chalmers University of Technology.; [2013]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Finite Element Method; metal cutting; bi-metals; inverse identification; Johnson-Cook; Wear modelling; Usui’s model; Response Surface Methodology; thermal fatigue cracking; flank wear;

    Sammanfattning : The experimental approach has long been the main method to investigate the responses associated with metal cutting process such as cutting forces and temperatures and also to optimise the machining operations to accomplish higher productivity. In recent years, with advances in computing power of computers along with development of robust numerical methods such as Finite Element Method (FEM), it has been possible to simulate different machining process under operational conditions. 2. 2. On the Application of Surface Wave Surveys for Seismic Site Response Evaluation

    Detta är en avhandling från Engineering Geology, Lund University

    Författare :Edwin Obando; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2011]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Surface wave; MASW; seismic site response; ground motion; seismic transfer functions; shear wave velocity; site amplification; walk-away; near-field effect; dispersion curve.;

    Sammanfattning : Popular Abstract in English The work presented here is about methods that will enable more precise estimates of soil and rock parameters related to seismic hazard mapping, in particular when resources are limited. This will allow for evaluating the seismic risk in countries where earthquakes are frequent and large budgets are not available. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Weldability and Testing Methodology in Precipitation Hardening Superalloys

    Detta är en avhandling från Chalmers University of Technology

    Författare :Jonny Jacobsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola.; Chalmers University of Technology.; [2017]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Superalloys; Varestraint; ATI® 718Plus™ and Haynes® 282®; Waspaloy®; Weldability; Alloy 718;

    Sammanfattning : Usable weldability data is desired in the manufacturing industry, especially within the aerospace industry where fabrication of structural jet engine components are realized. Welding of precipitation hardening superalloys such as Waspaloy®, Alloy 718, ATI® 718Plus™ and Haynes® 282® in particular can lead to solidification cracking in the fusion zone, liquation cracking in the heat affected zone and/or to solid state cracking. Sammanfattning : Traditionally, costly experimental procedures have been followed in industry to optimise the machining operations to secure the maximum efficiency in production line, while the functional requirements of the machined surfaces are fulfilled. In recent years, development of robust numerical techniques such as Finite Element Method (FEM) and advances in computing capacity of computers have made it possible to simulate the machining operations under operational conditions. Sammanfattning : Do metal particles (including particles of pure metals, alloys, metal oxides and compounds) pose a hazard or risk to human health? In the light of this question, this thesis summarizes results from research conducted on metal particles, and describes the elaboration and implementation of an in vitro test methodology to study metal release from particles through corrosion and dissolution processes in synthetic biological media relevant for human exposure through inhalation/ingestion and dermal contact.Bioaccessible metals are defined as the pool of released metals from particles that potentially could be made available for absorption by humans or other organisms.
