  1. 21. Signaling to and from the sodium pump : effects of insulin and cardiotonic steroids

    Författare :Olga Kotova; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Na ; K -ATPase; insulin; C-peptide; exercise; in vitro contraction; cardiotonic steroids; ouabain; marinobufagenin; ERK 1 2 MAP kinase; Src; p90 rsk; GSK3; signaling cascade; glycogen synthesis; human skeletal muscle cells; human renal tubular cells; rat skeletal muscle.;

    Sammanfattning : Insulin and proinsulin-connecting peptide (C-peptide) stimulate Na+,K+-ATPase activity. The molecular mechanism by which insulin and C-peptide regulate the Na-pump in differentiated primary human skeletal muscle cells (HSMCs) and primary human renal tubular cells (HRTCs) was determined. 2. 22. Short- and long-term consequences of sport-related concussion

    Författare :Fredrik Vedung; Niklas Marklund; Gunnar Antoni; Elna-Marie Larsson; Jakob Johansson; Alexander Olsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Sport-related concussion; Soccer; Traumatic brain injury; tau; neuroinflammation; cerebral blood flow; Neurokirurgi; Neurosurgery;

    Sammanfattning : Concussions are common in contact sports. Symptoms such as confusion and/or loss of consciousness following an impact to the head indicate that a sport-related concussion (SRC) has occurred. The symptoms normally resolve within 10-14 days following an SRC in adults although at least 10 % of athletes suffer from prolonged symptoms. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Time-dependent climate impact of short rotation coppice willow–based systems for electricity and heat production

    Författare :Niclas Ericsson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Fossil fuel use and man-made land use change has increased carbon dioxide (CO₂) levels in the atmosphere, contributing to climate impacts such as global warming. Perennial crops such as short rotation coppice (SRC) willow have received attention because of their potential to sequester carbon (C) from the atmosphere and build up soil organic carbon stocks while producing biomass which can be used to generate energy services. 4. 24. Biochemical and Structural Studies on the Adaptor Protein p130Cas

    Författare :Fariborz Nasertorabi; Kathryn R Ely; Lars Liljas; Jyrki Heino; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; Integrin signaling; p130Cas; X-ray Crystallography; NMR Spectroscopy; Protein phosphorylation; BCAR-1; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Crk associated substrate (Cas) is an adaptor protein that becomes phosphorylated upon integrin signaling and influences regulation of cell processes such as migration, proliferation and survival. It consists of multiple domains and regions that can interact with several signaling proteins involved in different signaling pathways. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Arts and Crafts Divine : Teaching and Learning Ritual Magic in Sodalitas Rosae Crucis

    Författare :Olivia Cejvan; Religionshistoria och religionsbeteendevetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; religionsantropologi; Ritual Studies; Levd religion; magi; Esoterism; Contemporary esotericism; anthropology of religion; ritual magic; Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn; Social Learning Theory; contemporary esotericism; initiation; narrative; spirituality; lived religion; ritual studies;

    Sammanfattning : This is an anthropological study of teaching and learning as it unfolds in a contemporary esoteric society in Sweden, the Sodalitas Rosae Crucis (SRC), founded in 2002. It perpetuates the teachings of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, an influential esoteric society instituted in Victorian London. LÄS MER
