  1. 21. Electromagnetic Modelling of Power Transformers for Study and Mitigation of Effects of GICs

    Författare :Seyedali Mousavi; Göran Engdahl; Ebrahim Rahimpour; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; transformer; hysteresis; DC magnetization; GMD; GICs; FEM; reluctance network method; low frequency transients; core losses; winding losses; eddy current losses; transformator; hysteresis; DC; likströmsmagnetisering; GMD; GIC; FEM; reluktansnätverksmodell; lågfrekventa transienter; kärnförluster; lindningsförluster; virvelströmsförluster; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Geomagnetic disturbances that result from solar activities can affect technological systems such as power networks. They may cause DC currents in power networks and saturation of the core in power transformers that leads to destruction in the transformer performance. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Characteristic of Surge Transfer Through Transformers : Study of Conventional Distribution Transformer and XLPE Cable Winding Transformer (Dryformer)

    Författare :Mighanda Manyahi; Vladmiir Rakov; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik; Physics; Fysik; Electricity; Esp The Study Of Transients and Discharges; elektricitetslära; ssk studiet av transienter och urladdning;

    Sammanfattning : Wide spread application and dependence on microelectronics based equipment in modern society has necessitated the study of power supply quality problems in low voltage power installations. In spite of improvements in surge protection, sensitive equipment connected to low-voltage side of distribution transformer has continued to fail due to transient voltages that are transferred through distribution transformer from high voltage circuits. 3. 23. A walk into the digital world : a long and winding road

    Författare :Kent Fridell; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Radiology departments are changing rapidly due to the implementation of digital image management and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems). When new information and communication technologies are implemented, there are organizational effects. LÄS MER

  4. 24. A long and winding road: Differentiating human embryonic stem cells into dopaminergic neurons

    Författare :Oktar Guloglu; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; adipocyte; PA6; DZNEP; dopaminergic differentiation; embryonic stem cells;

    Sammanfattning : Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder. Since the motor manifestations of the disease is associated with the loss of dopaminergic (DAergic) neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta, cell replacement therapy is a promising approach for treatment. 5. 25. The association of inflammatory biomarkers with cardiovascular events : a long and winding path

    Författare :Ilais Moreno Velásquez; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate the association of inflammatory biomarkers with cardiovascular disease (CVD) with the final scope to identify potential novel predictors of incident cardiovascular events (CVE). The specific objectives were: to study the association between levels of IL8 and the genetic variants at the IL8 and IL8 receptor genes with the occurrence of myocardial infarction (MI) and to explore if these genetic variants regulate IL8 levels (Study 1); to identify novel genetic variants associated with IL8 levels (Study II); to study the association of IL8 levels with the risk of CVE (Study III) and, finally, to investigate the association between the levels of soluble IL6 receptors (sIL6R and sgp130) with the occurrence of MI (Study IV).
