11. Simulation methods for hydropower flows : modeling and validation experiments
Sammanfattning : My research project aims for more accurate modeling of the flow in hydropower plants. By accurate modeling, it is possible to try different modifications on existing plants in an affordable manner. Also, entirely new designs can be tested before realization. Hydropower delivers almost 50% of Sweden's electricity demand with a production of 74 TWh. LÄS MER
12. Numerical Investigation of Turbulent Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer in Complex Ducts
Sammanfattning : Th need for a reliable and reasonable accurate turbulence model without specific convergence problem for calculating duct flows in industrial applications has become more evident. In this study a general computational method has been developed for calculating turbulent quantities in any arbitrary three dimensional duct. LÄS MER
13. Computational Analysis of Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow with Relevance for IC-Engine Cooling
Sammanfattning : Modern IC-engines produce more power per displaced volume and operate at higher combustion pressures and temperatures. In addition, engine structure materials such as aluminium and magnesium alloys, which are more sensitive to thermal loads, are more commonly used. LÄS MER
14. CFD simulation of indoor climate in low energy buildings
Sammanfattning : In this thesis computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was used for simulation of the indoor climate of low-energy buildings in cold climate. The heat consumption in newly built houses was reduced drastically. LÄS MER
15. CFD Simulation of Jet in Asymmetric Co-flows in a Down-scaled Rotary Kiln Model
Sammanfattning : Rotary kilns are industrial furnaces that have been widely used in limestone calcination, cement industry and hazardous waste incineration for centuries. In this work a rotary kiln used for the iron ore pellet sintering process in the grate-kiln pelletizing system has been studied. LÄS MER
