1. Drift Waves in General Toroidal Equilibria
Sammanfattning : One of the main concerns in fusion research is to understand the anomalously high transport in magnetically confined plasmas. In recent years, substantial progress in the understanding of transport in terms of drift waves in fusion plasmas has been achieved. LÄS MER
2. Drift waves in non-circular tokamak geometry
Sammanfattning : One of the main concerns in fusion research is to understand the anomalously high transport in magnetically confined plasmas. In recent years, substantial progress in the understanding of transport in terms of drift waves in tokamaks has been achieved. LÄS MER
3. Drift-Type Waves in Rotating Tokamak Plasma
Sammanfattning : The concept of energy production through the fusion of two light nuclei has been studied since the 1950’s. One of the major problems that fusion scientists have encountered is the confinement of the hot ionised gas, i.e. the plasma, in which the fusion process takes place. LÄS MER
4. Influence of Geometry on Drift Waves in Tokamaks and Stellarators
Sammanfattning : There is a general consensus that drift waves are responsible for a large amount of transport in fusion experiments and it is of importance to investigate their linear stability and nonlinear evolution. These instabilities have therefore been intensively investigated in tokamaks for the last few decades. LÄS MER
5. Drift and Mirror Modes in Magnetized Plasmas
Sammanfattning : Low frequency plasma instabilities driven by plasma inhomogeneity and velocity anisotropies are major candidates for the explanation of various phenomena observed in fusion and space plasmas. For low-β fusion plasma, the influence of plasma rotation and finite ion temperature on the structure and the type of toroidal drift eigenmodes in tokamaks is investigated rigorously, including the effects induced by the toroidal geometry such as the coupling mode, the radial variation of plasma rotation velocity and the magnetic shear.
