11. Efficient heat supply and use from an energy-system and climate perspective
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to illustrate whether the heat demand in district heating systems can be seen as a resource that enables efficient energy utilization, how this can be achieved and to discuss consequences of this assumption. Based on the answers to posed research questions and on the studies included in this thesis, it is concluded that the hypothesis “A common system approach for energy supply and heat demand will show climate and economic efficient solutions” is true. 12. On Gate Drivers and Applications of Normally-ON SiC JFETs
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, various issues regarding normally-ON silicon carbide (SiC)Junction Field-Effect Transistors (JFETs) are treated. Silicon carbide powersemiconductor devices are able to operate at higher switching frequencies, higher efficiencies, and higher temperatures compared to silicon counterparts. LÄS MER
13. Complexity and learning in timber frame housing : the case of a solid wood pilot project
Sammanfattning : An extensive governmental evaluation of the Swedish construction industry shows that it is possible to reduce production costs in housing construction through industrialisation, customer orientation, and a more efficient construction process. Today large construction companies are more and more focused on dealing with systems and coordinating large projects and the real production is getting less important. LÄS MER
14. Design of Electricity Markets for Efficient Balancing of Wind Power Generation
Sammanfattning : Deploying wind power to a larger extent is one solution to reduce negative environmental impacts of electric power supply. However, various challenges are connected with increasing wind power penetration levels. LÄS MER
15. Energy Efficiency in the Residential, Service and Energy Sectors : Barriers, Drivers and System Studies
Sammanfattning : Increased energy efficiency is a prerequisite for achieving the national energy and climate goals, the goals set by the European Union, and the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations. Close to 40% of Sweden’s total energy use and approximately 20% of domestic greenhouse gas emissions are allocated to the residential and service sector. LÄS MER
