  1. 21. Time dependent material properties of shotcrete for hard rock tunnelling

    Författare :Lars Elof Bryne; Anders Ansell; Wolfgang Kusterle; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Shotcrete; rock; granite; bond strength; compressive strength; pullout testing; failure modes; interfacial transition zone; micro structure; ettringite; set accelerator; shrinkage; drains; glass fibres; laboratory testing; tunnels tunnelling;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis different mechanical properties for shotcrete (sprayed concrete) such as compression strength, bond strength, bending tensile strength, elastic modulus, free and restrained shrinkage as a function of its age was investigated. One of the main issues was to investigate the difference between ordinary cast concrete and shotcrete. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Pulp strength enhancement by oxygen delignification

    Författare :Claudia Esteves; Elisabet Brännvall; Olena Sevastyanova; Sören Östlund; Christine Chirat; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fiber charge; morphology; oxygen delignification; swellability; tensile properties; dragegenskaper; fiberladdningar; morfologi; svällningsförmåga; syrgasdelignifiering; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Oxygen delignification is widely used in the pulp and paper industry as a part of delignification process between the kraft cook and bleaching. However, its potential has not been fully utilized. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Biomedical Applications of Bacterial Cellulose Fermentation, Morphology and Surface Properties

    Författare :Aase Katarina Bodin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biocompatibility; xyloglucan epitopes; mechanical properties; cell adhesion; tubular fermentation; morphology; Bacterial cellulose; surface properties; meniscus mold; crystal formation.; ozonation; adsorption;

    Sammanfattning : Because average life expectancy has increased and peoples lifestyles have changed, degenerative diseases have become a critical issue. The demand for biomedical materials to replace or improve major body systems (skeletal, circulatory and nervous, etc.) will increase as people strive to maintain good quality of life. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Characteristics of cast magnesium alloys : microstructures, defects and mechanical properties

    Författare :Haiping Cao; Anders Jarfors; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Mg alloys; microstructure; mechanical properties; defects; modelling; segregation bands; hot tear; mould constraint; semi-solid casting.; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Magnesium is the lightest of all structural metals. As such, and combined  with good mechanical and physical properties, it forms the basis for commercial alloys that have found successful use in a wide variety of applications. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Calcium aluminate cement as dental restorative : Mechanical properties and clinical durability

    Författare :Karin Sunnegårdh-Grönberg; Jan van Dijken; Preben Hørsted Bindslev; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :mechanical properties; clinical; restorations; ceramic; cement; resin composite; adaptation; SEM; odontologi; Odontology;

    Sammanfattning : In 1995, the Swedish government recommended the discontinuation of amalgam as restorative in paediatric dentistry. Because the mercury content in amalgam constitutes an environmental hazard, its use has declined. LÄS MER
