  1. 6. Conceptual Design of Propulsion Systems for Boundary Layer Ingestion

    Författare :Sebastian Samuelsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; turbo-electric aircraft; performance modeling; Aviation; boundary layer ingestion; aircraft engine; conceptual design; propulsion integration;

    Sammanfattning : To reduce the climate impact of aviation new aircraft and engine concepts as well as improved design methods are needed. In this thesis, two fronts are explored. The first concerns improved methods for the conceptual design of the engine. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Unpacking inscriptions – A sociomateriality perspective on the design process of a milk package

    Författare :Sandra Samuelsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; sociomateriality; inscription domains; mundane engineered objects; design process; milk package;

    Sammanfattning : Today’s trend of fast-paced innovation in the field of, for example, information technology results in an acclaim of quick changes. At the same time, product innovation is only one facet of market offerings as industry standard comprise multiple interests that stabilize object characteristics, something which complicates change. 3. 8. Visuospatial inattention and processing speed : Predictors of long-term outcome and patterns of change after ischemic stroke

    Författare :Joel Gerafi; Hans Samuelsson; Tom Manly; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Visuospatial inattention; language impairment; long-term functional outcome; ischemic stroke; neglect; aphasia; lateralized inattention; processing speed; Consciousness and Cognitive Neuroscience; Kognitiv neurovetenskap och filosofi; visuospatial inattention; language impairment; long-term functional outcome; ischemic stroke; neglect; aphasia; lateralized inattention; processing speed;

    Sammanfattning : Impairments of visuospatial attention, language, and processing speed (PS) are common early after stroke and have been associated with unfavorable short-term functional outcomes but little is known about this relationship in the long-term. This thesis investigates 1) the potential importance of visuospatial inattention (VSI) and language impairments (LI) as predictors of functional outcomes 7 years after an ischemic stroke (studies I-II) and 2) presence of lateralized inattention 7 years after stroke and potential predictors of this phenomenon (study III). 4. 9. Recycling of Blast Furnace Sludge within the Integrated Steel Plant : Potential for Complete Recycling and Influence on Operation

    Författare :Anton Andersson; Lena Sundqvist Ökvist; Hesham Ahmed; Caisa Samuelsson; Yongxiang Yang; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Ore-based steelmaking generates various residues including dust, sludges, scales and slags. Internal and external recycling has allowed for 68-90 % of the dust, sludges and scales to be recycled. However, several residues are landfilled despite containing elements valuable as raw material in the production of steel. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Fundamental Investigations of Adsorption in SFC

    Författare :Emelie Glenne; Torgny Fornstedt; Jörgen Samuelsson; Caroline West; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Supercritical fluid chromatography; SFC; Adsorption isotherm; Excess adsorption isotherm; Solvent adsorption; Peak distortion; Solute retention; Overloaded peaks; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : In supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC), the eluent is composed by carbon dioxide, often with additional components, in a condition between gas and liquid. This thesis aims to reach a deeper understanding of SFC by revealing the function of the additional eluent components through systematic adsorption studies. LÄS MER
