6. Extremal eigenvalues and geometry of quantum graphs
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers concerning topics in the spectral theory of quantum graphs, which are differential operators on metric graphs. In paper I we present a family of graphs with an arbitrary number of cycles for which a certain eigenvalue upper estimate is sharp. 7. Resonances in Three-Body Systems
Sammanfattning : Three particles interacting via Coulomb forces represent a fundamental problem in quantum mechanics with no known exact solution. We have investigated resonance states composed of three particles interacting via Coulombic and more general potentials in non-relativistic quantum mechanics, using the complex scaling method. 8. Resonances in three-body systems
Sammanfattning : Three particles interacting via Coulomb forces represents a fundamental problem in quantum mechanics whose approximate solution provides some insight into the more complex analysis associated with few-body problems. We have investigated resonance states composed of three particles interacting via Coulombic and more general potentials in non-relativistic quantum mechanics, using the complex scaling method. 9. A Theoretical Study of Atomic Trimers in the Critical Stability Region
Sammanfattning : When studying the structure formation and fragmentation of complex atomic and nuclear systems it is preferable to start with simple systems where all details can be explored. Some of the knowledge gained from studies of atomic dimers can be generalised to more complex systems. LÄS MER
10. On the formation of small molecules by radiative association
Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted to the theoretical investigation of radiative association, which is one of the processes contributing to formation of molecules in the interstellar medium. The formation of the CN, SiN, SiP and CO molecules through radiative association of the corresponding atoms in their ground electronic states is studied by the means of classical and quantum dynamical calculations.
