    Sammanfattning : Calcium (Ca2+) is a highly versatile ion used for intra- and inter-cellular signalling in eukaryotic cells, and numerous cellular events are regulated by alteration of the intracellular Ca2+ concentration. They both cause diseases ranging from uncomplicated infections to severe invasive diseases, such as sepsis and toxic shock syndrome, as well as severe tissue infections including necrotizing fasciitis and necrotizing pneumonia.     Sammanfattning : Protein structures at moderate to high resolution can now be readily solved using an electron microscope and image processing techniques. The averaging conditions required to overcome the low signal to noise ratio of electron microscope images are particularly well satisfied by two-dimensional crystals. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Rod-shaped bacteria were previously shown to be associated with the small intestinal epithelium of children with celiac disease (CD). Using culture-dependent and independent methods, we characterized the microbiota of small intestine in children with CD and controls.
