31. Dynamics of Disordered Materials in Confined Geometries
Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with effects of geometrical confinement on dynamics in disordered materials in the nanoscopic range. Of particular interest is the dynamics around the liquid to glass transition. Two systems have been investigated: thin polymer films and polymer gels. LÄS MER
32. Pulsed Field Gradient NMR Studies of Diffusion in Polymer Gels
Sammanfattning : Soft biomaterials, such as gels, play an important role in different kinds of products and applications, in particular in drug delivery systems, health care products, and food. Polymer gel's great ability to control mass transport is applied on e.g. the uptake of liquids in diapers. LÄS MER
33. A Waterborne Colloidal Model System Consisting of Fluorinated Spheres Bearing Grafted PEG: Synthesis, Characterization and Properties
Sammanfattning : Model systems have expanded our knowledge of numerous phenomena in Colloid Science, such as the appearance of glasses, order-disorder transitions involving crystals and attraction induced formation of gels. So far, the existing colloidal model systems have been limited mainly to nonaqueous media. LÄS MER
34. Synthesis and Characterization of Functional Polymers Based on Trimethylolpropane Trimethacrylate and Glycidyl Methacrylate
Sammanfattning : Copolymers of trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) were prepared with various monomer-to-solvent ratios, GMA to TRIM ratios and with various types of porogens. These parameters affected the inner morphology of the polymers and various pore surface areas (100-500 m2/g) and pore size distributions were obtained. LÄS MER
35. On the processing and properties of cellulose-containing polymeric materials
Sammanfattning : Cellulose fibres have properties such as renewability, biodegradability, very good availability and low cost that make them very attractive as a reinforcement for thermoplastic polymers. Other more specific favourable properties are low density, high specific stiffness, low abrasive nature and their potential for modification. LÄS MER
