  1. 1. The biological mechanisms in neutrophil and eosinophil adhesion and transmigration in vitro and theur relation to the inflammatory process in vivo

    Författare :Ali Moshfegh; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In inflammatory reactions, eosinophils and neutrophils constitute the major classes of granulocytes that emigrate from the bloodstream into the tissues. The recruitment of inflammatory cells constitutes a multi-step process that includes sequential adhesion and transmigration through, the endothelial lining, the underlying basement membrane and a variety of extracellular matrix components. 2. 2. Aspects on finite element simulation of sheet metal forming processes

    Författare :Ramin Moshfegh; Kjell Mattiasson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Sheet metal forming process; Forming Limit Diagram; Metallurgical manufacturing engineering; Metallurgisk produktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis has focused on four different aspects of finite element simulation of sheet metal forming processes. Four substantial research areas are the development of a methodology for predicting the limiting strains in connection with the Forming Limit Diagram, the applicable mode of procedure for finite element simulation of the hydromechanical deep drawing process, the adaptive mesh refinement strategy based on gradients of the effective plastic stresses and strains; and the reliability and sensitivity assessments within sheet metal forming processes. Sammanfattning : In recent years, application of confluent jets for design of ventilation supply devices has been studied. Similarly, numerus studies have been made on the potential and application of variable air volume (VAV) in order to reduce the energy demand of ventilation systems. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On the Effect of Occupant Behavior and Internal Heat Gains on the Building’s Energy Demand : A case study of an office building and a retirement home

    Författare :Jakob Carlander; Bahram Moshfegh; Jan Akander; Shahnaz Amiri; Sture Holmberg; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; building energy simulation; energy efficiency indicators; occupant behaviour; energy performance; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development;

    Sammanfattning : About 12% of the greenhouse gas emissions and 40% of the total energy use in the EU derive from the buildings. User behavior, construction, and HVAC systems has a significant impact on a building’s energy use. If a building is to be energy-efficient it is important to understand how all these parameters are connected. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Experimental and numerical investigations of a ventilation strategy – impinging jet ventilation for an office environment

    Författare :Huijuan Chen; Bahram Moshfegh; Mathias Cehlin; Darren Robinson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Impinging jet ventilation; room air distribution; thermal comfort; ventilation performance; turbulence modelling; CFD;

    Sammanfattning : A well-functioning, energy-efficient ventilation system is of vital importance to offices, not only to provide the kind of comfortable, healthy indoor environment necessary for the well-being and productive work performance of occupants, but also to reduce energy use in buildings and the associated impact of CO2 emissions on the environment. To achieve these goals impinging jet ventilation has been developed as an innovative ventilation concept. LÄS MER
