21. On Clinical and Mechanical Aspects in Implant Supported Screw Retained Multi-unit CAD-CAM Metal Framework
Sammanfattning : Conventionally casted frameworks have been considered the preferredsolutions for complete and partial restorations since the beginningof implantology. However, following technological development, thecomputer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM)with milling the frameworks has been introduced as an alternativeoption with the potential of minimising inaccuracies, reducing theoperator dependence and offering a homogeneous structure with highmechanical properties. 22. On the biological behavior of barrier membranes: implications for Guided Bone Regeneration. Clinical and Experimental studies
Sammanfattning : There is a continuous development of bone augmentation solutions to meet the rising demand for effective dental implant rehabilitations. One of the most used techniques is Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR). LÄS MER
23. On Bone Regeneration in Porous Bioceramics - Studies in humans and rabbits using free form fabricated scaffolds
Sammanfattning : The objective of the present thesis was to evaluate the effect of material chemistry and macroand micro-porosity on bone regeneration in association with synthetic, porous ceramic materials. Ceramic scaffolds were designed and manufactured for experimental and human studies using free form fabrication (FFF), a technique which produces the object layer by layer using data from CAD files. 24. Clinical and experimental studies of bone substitutes and dental implants in compromised bone sites
Sammanfattning : Background: With an ageing population, an increase of more challenging implant treatments is expected. In this thesis, we evaluate the outcome of two faster implant protocols, in patients with compromised alveolar bone. LÄS MER
25. On guided bone reformation in the maxillary sinus to enable placement and integration of endosseous implants. Clinical and experimental studies
Sammanfattning : Dental caries and periodontal disease are the major causes for tooth loss. While dental caries commonly involve the posterior teeth in both jaws, the teeth most commonly lost due to periodontal problems are the first and second molars in the maxilla. As a consequence, the upper posterior jaw is frequently edentulous. LÄS MER
