  1. 1. Assessing District-Heating Sustainability – Case Studies of CO2 Mitigation Strategies and Environmental Cost Accounting

    Författare :Elsa Fahlén; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; absorption cooling; biomass gasification; bio transport fuel; policy instruments; carbon dioxide; external costs; combined heat and power; district heating and cooling;

    Sammanfattning : District heating (DH) may play an important role in achieving the EU goal of a secure, competitive and sustainable energy supply. Integrated energy solutions based on technologies, such as biomass gasification for transport fuel, electricity and heat production and heat-driven absorption cooling, create new optimisation possibilities through the linkage between heat, power, cooling and transport fuel markets which may reduce the global warming contribution of the energy sector. 2. 2. Evaluation of a thermally driven heat pump for solar heating and cooling applications

    Författare :Corey Blackman; Chris Bales; Eva Thorin; Victoria Martin; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; solar energy; solar heating and cooling; sorption integrated; Reesbe företagsforskarskola; Reesbe företagsforskarskola; Energy- and Environmental Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Exploiting solar energy technology for both heating and cooling purposes has the potential of meeting an appreciable portion of the energy demand in buildings throughout the year. By developing an integrated, multi-purpose solar energy system, that can operate all twelve months of the year, a high utilisation factor can be achieved which translates to more economical systems. 3. 3. Optimization of ground-coupled systems for heating and cooling of buildings

    Författare :Jüri Naumov; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; free-cooling; brine temperature; heat pump; ground system; heating demand; storage; building load; cooling demand; Borehole;

    Sammanfattning : The use of ground-coupled systems in commercial buildings offers economic as well as environmental advantages. When both heating and cooling is required, a ground-coupled system can function both as a heat source and a heat sink. At the same time, it can also serve as a short term as well as a seasonal storage. LÄS MER

  4. 4. District Heating and CHP : Local Possibilities for Global Climate Change Mitigation

    Författare :Kristina Difs; G. Björn Karlsson; Louise Trygg; Thomas B. Johansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :District heating; combined heat and power; carbon dioxide emissions; optimisation; energy policies; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Global warming, in combination with increasing energy demand and higher energy prices, makes it necessary to change the energy use. To secure the energy supply and to develop sustainable societies, construction of energy-efficient systems is at the same time most vital. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Climate and Energy Use in Glazed Spaces

    Författare :Maria Wall; Institutioner vid LTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Byggnadsteknik; Building construction; design tool; field measurements; calculations; thermal comfort; cooling; heating; energy requirement; solar energy; climate; atrium buildings; glazed spaces;

    Sammanfattning : Glazed spaces ranging from small glazed verandas to large atrium buildings have become a common feature in architecture. A glazed space is greatly affected by aspects of the outside climate such as insolation and temperature. LÄS MER
