11. NMR diffusion studies on lyotropic liquid crystalline systems
Sammanfattning : The pulsed field gradient fourier transform nuclear magnetic resonance (PFG-FTNMR) method to measure translational diffusion coefficients in multicomponent systems has been applied to amphiphilic molecules forming liquid crystalline phases.By analyzing the concentration dependence of the diffusion coefficients of water and amphiphile in a micellar system of N,N-dimethyldodecy lamine oxide (DDAO) in water it was possible to conclude that the micelles formed were polydisperse in size and shape. Sammanfattning : The determination of complexes formed in weakly acidic aqueous solutions containing pentavalent vanadium as well as hexavalent molybdenum has proved diffi cui t due to slow equilibria and 1 imi ted sol ubi 1 i ty of especially the vanadium species. The formation of several different polynuclear complexes with a very varied molybdenum/vanadium ratio also complicates the interpretation of Potentiometrie data. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : This thesis studies bonding and diffusion of molecules in zeolites by Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) and Electron Nuclear Double Resonance (ENDOR). In the first part an introduction is given. In the second part (chapter 2) the detailed structure of a Cu2+ complex with water molecules in Cu-ZSM-5 zeolite was characterized with ENDOR at 4 K.
