  1. 16. Prognostic Factors in First-Episode Schizophrenia : Five-year Outcome of Symptoms, Function and Obesity

    Författare :Robert Bodén; Johan Sundström; Leif Lindström; Lena Flyckt; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; First-episode; psychosis; schizophrenia; community mental health services; remission; functional outcome; biochemistry; obesity; weight-gain; prediction; autonomic balance; electrocardiography; Psychiatry; Psykiatri; Psychiatry; Psykiatri;

    Sammanfattning : Our knowledge of prognostic factors and optimal treatment organisation in schizophrenia is incomplete. The disparity of outcome measures used has been a major obstacle for research. Increasing evidence has shown that schizophrenia is associated with increased cardiovascular mortality, development of obesity and autonomic nervous system imbalance. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Development of Automated Algorithms for Epicardial Adipose Tissue Analysis in Computed Tomography and their Application in Population Based Research

    Författare :David Molnar; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epicardial adipose tissue; Artificial intelligence; Automatic analysis; Computed tomography; Coronary atherosclerosis; Pre-diabetes; Vector electrocardiography;

    Sammanfattning : The epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), which surrounds the heart and is separated from other tissues only by the thin layers of the pericardium, has enjoyed intense research for the past decades. Increased inflammatory activity in the EAT in coronary artery disease has, together with associated volumetric expansion of the EAT and changes in its radiodensity supported theories that the EAT might play a role in the pathogenesis of coronary atherosclerosis or mirror its progression better than traditional risk factors. 3. 18. Textile electrodes for ECG measurements in distributed care, performance and applications

    Författare :Linda Rattfält; Per Ask; Peter Hult; Maria Lindén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis work has been to explore textile electrodes for electrocardiographic (ECG) measurements both in terms of their electrode properties and possibility to further improve their robustness to noise with signal processing techniques. Previous research within the field has shown that acquisition of ECG is possible with textile electrodes, but little attention has been focused on how they function and especially if movements are included in the measurement protocol. 4. 19. Repolarization studies in the long QT syndrome

    Författare :Pia Dahlberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; long QT syndrome; repolarization; hysteresis; vectorcardiography; QT adaptation; ventricular repolarization;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Background: Sudden cardiac death in the young is predominantly caused by inherited cardiac conditions. Long QT syndrome (LQTS) is one of the most common of these disorders. Since risk stratification relies largely upon the heart rate (HR) corrected QT interval (QTc), it is crucial to identify an appropriate method for QT correction. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Physiological recovery from night-call duty - a field study of physicians

    Författare :Birgitta Malmberg; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; HRV; Acitwatch; night-call; anaesthesiologist; sleep; working time;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Physicians’ work on night-call entails long and stressful working hours with high demands and disrupted sleep. Incomplete recovery is considered to be the most important link between acute physiological stress reactions, shift work and chronic health effects. LÄS MER
