  1. 41. Bruk av kalk och sand ur ett hantverkligt perspektiv

    Författare :Jonny Eriksson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Eriksson method; mortar; lime putty; quenching methods; lime-kilns;

    Sammanfattning : Sweden has a thousand-year history of burning (calcinating) and slaking (hydrating) limestone to produce a binder for mortar and stucco. We can assume that the conditions for manufacturing such binders have varied from one part of the country to another. LÄS MER

  2. 42. Diagenesis and Sequence Stratigraphy : Predictive Models for Reservoir Quality Evolution of Fluvial and Glaciogenic and Non-glaciogenic, Paralic Deposits

    Författare :Mohamed Kalefa; Sadoon Morad; Alessandro Amorosi; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Siliciclastic diagenesis; Sequence stratigraphy; Glacial and non-glacial; Fluvial; Paralic and shallow marine; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Development of a predictive model for the distribution of diagenetic alterations and related evolution of reservoir quality of sandstones was achieved by integrating the knowledge of diagenesis to sequence stratigraphy. This approach allows a better elucidation of the distribution of eogenetic alterations within sequence stratigraphy, because changes in the relative sea level induce changes to: (i) pore water chemistry, (ii) residence time of sediments under certain near-surface geochemical conditions, (iii) variations in the detrital composition, and (iv) amounts and type of organic matter. 3. 43. Parameters Controlling Distribution of Diagenetic Alterations within Fluvial and Shallow Marine Sandstone Reservoirs : Evidence from the Libyan Basins

    Författare :Muftah Khalifa; Hemin Koyi; Joao Marcelo Medina Ketzer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Diagenesis; Structural setting; Depositional facies; Basin thermal history; Ther- mal Hot basinal brines; Fluid inclusions; Raman Spectrometry; Stylolites; Hydro-carbon migration; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis demonstrates that geological setting, depositional facies, open system flux of hot basinal brines and descending of shallow waters have a strong impact on the distribution of the diagenetic alterations within continental and paralic/shallow marine sandstones which in turn control the quality and heterogeneities of the reservoirs.Geological setting controls the mineralogical and textural maturity of sandstone, whereas depositional facies control the pore water chemistry (marine, brackish or meteoric), sedimentary texture and sand body geometry. 4. 44. Weathering of mining waste rock containing alum shale and limestone

    Författare :Erik Puura; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Geochemical processes occurring in the waste rock dumps ofan old phosphate mine, located in Maardu, northem Estonia, havebeen studied and modelled. The waste rock contains pyritic,metalliferous and organic-rich shale, as well as limestone.Production of acidity during pyrite oxidation is a potentialmechanism for heavy metal release. LÄS MER

  5. 45. Co-disposal of waste rock and lignite fly ash to mitigate the environmental impact of coal mining

    Författare :Asif Qureshi; Björn Öhlander; Christian Maurice; Thomas Pabst; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Acid mine drainage AMD ; coal mine waste rocks; coal fly ash; co-disposal; mixing blending; dry-cover; prevention neutralisation; Tillämpad geokemi; Applied Geochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Waste rocks (WRs) from coal mining and fly ash (FA) from coal combustion were studied to determine the potential of the WRs to generate AMD, FAs to neutralise it and estimate their impacts on environment. The ultimate goal was to develop a methodology based on co-disposal to mitigate the environmental problems associated to both wastes. LÄS MER
