  1. 1. Aspects of oral implant technology and osseointegration

    Författare :Rainde Naiara Rezende de Jesus; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; biomaterials; oral implants; surface topography; surface roughness; surface energy; surface wettability; hydrophilicity; macrogeometry; implant body; thread design; surgical protocol; oversized drilling; osseointegration; bone-to-implant contact; bone density; primary implant stability; insertion torque; removal torque; removal energy; connection stiffness; osteoclasts; RAW264.7 cells; gene expression;

    Sammanfattning : Behandling med käkbensförankrade tandimplantat är en vanlig metod för att ersätta förlorade tänder hos helt och partiellt tandlösa patienter. Trots att implantatbehandling uppvisar en långsiktigt hög lyckande- och överlevnadsfrekvens (90–95% efter 10 år) så förekommer implantatförluster och marginal benförlust kring implantaten under det första året efter insättning och/eller belastning, vilket kan försämra det estetiska resultatet. 2. 2. Mechanisms of Osseointegration: Experimental Studies on Early Cellular and Molecular Events in vivo

    Författare :Omar Omar; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Osseointegration; titanium; bone; gene expression; bone-implant interface; qPCR; inflammation; cytokine; chemotaxis; chemokine; integrin; bone formation; remodeling; in vivo; rat; immunohistochemistry; ultrastructure; biomechanical torque test;

    Sammanfattning : The early cellular and molecular activities determining the early tissue response and bone formation at bone/implant interface are not fully understood. The general aim of the current thesis was to develop a model for studying the early molecular and cellular activities in different bone types, and in response to different implant surface properties. 3. 3. On the bone response to oxidized titanium implants. The role of microporous structure and chemical composition of the surface oxide in enhanced osseointegration

    Författare :Young-Taeg Sul; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Oxidized titanium implants; micro arc oxidation; oxide growth; surface oxide properties; bone; biomechanical tests; histomorphometry; enzyme histochemistry.;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Titanium implants have been widely used clinically for various types of bone-anchored reconstructions. A thin native oxide film, naturally formed on titanium implants contacts with bone tissue and has been considered to be of great importance for successful osseointegration. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On a novel technique for preparation and analysis of the implant surface and its interface to bone

    Författare :Anders Palmquist; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Focused Ion Beam FIB ; Transmission electron microscopy TEM ; Scanning electron microscopy SEM ; osseointegration; rabbit; human; titanium; titanium alloy; surface analysis; bone-implant interface analysis; ultrastucture; surface modification; laser;

    Sammanfattning : The ultrastructural and biomechanical properties of the bone-implant interface are important factors for implant performance. For further understanding of the osseointegration process novel tools enabling analysis of the intact interface in high resolution is needed, preferably combined with histology and biomechanical tests. 5. 5. On Influence Of Undersized Implant Site On Implant Stability And Osseointegration

    Författare :Michele Stocchero; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; dental implant; primary stability; surgical protocol; undersized osteotomy;

    Sammanfattning : The use of dental implants for the rehabilitation of edentulous areas is an established treatment, showing high success rates. Primary stability is one of the pre-requisites for osseointegration, and it is ensured by the mechanical interlocking at the bone to implant interface. LÄS MER
