  1. 1. Movement strategies and dynamic knee control after anterior cruciate ligament injury : a three-dimensional biomechanical analysis

    Författare :Jonas L. Markström; Charlotte K. Häger; Eva Tengman; Helena Grip; Lina Schelin; Jim Richards; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anterior cruciate ligament; biomechanics; kinematics; kinetics; finite helical axis; injury prevention; sports; reliability; agreement; one-leg hops; functional data analysis; physiotherapy; fysioterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is common and mainly occurs in non-contact situations in sports, often due to momentarily poor movement control. Assessment of movement quality during sport-like tasks iscrucial to understand how to decrease the high risk of reinjury for ACL-injured persons, but also how to prevent primary injury. LÄS MER

  2. 2. On the bone response to oxidized titanium implants. The role of microporous structure and chemical composition of the surface oxide in enhanced osseointegration

    Författare :Young-Taeg Sul; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Oxidized titanium implants; micro arc oxidation; oxide growth; surface oxide properties; bone; biomechanical tests; histomorphometry; enzyme histochemistry.;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Titanium implants have been widely used clinically for various types of bone-anchored reconstructions. A thin native oxide film, naturally formed on titanium implants contacts with bone tissue and has been considered to be of great importance for successful osseointegration. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Biomechanical Parameter Estimation for Wearable Exoskeleton System Design

    Författare :Longbin Zhang; Elena Gutierrez Farewik; Ruoli Wang; Christian Smith; Max Ortiz Catalan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hill-type muscle model; generalization; transfer learning; computationally modeling; human-machine system; Engineering Mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Exoskeletons are increasingly used in rehabilitation and daily life in persons with motor disorders after neurological injuries. The overall objective of this thesis is to study how to robustly and accurately predict joint torque using inputs from sensors that would technically be feasible to equip on an assistive exoskeleton, and to develop a framework that could be used to evaluate the user-exoskeleton interface. 4. 4. PHYSIOLOGICAL AND BIOMECHANICAL FACTORS DETERMINING CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING PERFORMANCE

    Författare :Erik Andersson; Hans-Christer Holmberg; Glenn Björklund; Thomas Stöggl; Jos J. de Koning; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :cycle characteristics; energy cost; energy yield; incline; joint angles; kinematics; kinetics; mechanics; Nordic skiing; oxygen deficit; oxygen demand; technique transitions; total metabolic rate.;

    Sammanfattning : Cross-country (c.c.) skiing is a complex sport discipline from both physiological and biomechanical perspectives, with varying course topographies that require different proportions of the involved sub-techniques to be utilised. A relatively new event in c. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Studies on structural and biomechanical responses in seat integrated safety belt configurations

    Författare :Anders Gavelin; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : The common 3-point safety belt usually has some anchor points on the car body. However, it is also possible to mount all anchor points on the seat structure. In general, different studies show some advantages with seat integrated safety belts. Thus, further investigations are motivated. LÄS MER
