Some of the most feared complications as anastomotic leakage, abdominal infections, abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) and intestinal ischemia can lead to sepsis, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) with high morbidity and mortality.
