  1. 6. Production of Hydrogen for Oil Refining by Thermal Gasification of Biomass: Process Design, Integration and Evaluation

    Författare :Jean-Florian Brau; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydrogen; Modeling; Refining; Biomass Gasification; Energy Systems; Process Integration;

    Sammanfattning : Hydrogen is an important part of crude oil refining operations since it is required in several units for the desulphurization and upgrading of various oil fractions. At present, most of the refineries meet their hydrogen demand through methane steam reforming, a refinery unit that can represent up to 25% of the plant’s fossil CO2 emissions. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Waste-Heat Recovery from Combustion Engines based on the Rankine Cycle

    Författare :Gunnar Latz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rankine cycle; waste heat recovery; energy losses; energy efficiency; vehicle propulsion;

    Sammanfattning : The majority of the energy in the fuel burned by the combustion engines used in modern vehicles is lost in the form of waste heat and does not contribute to the propulsion of the vehicle. Three different technologies have been proposed for recovering some of this lost heat and thereby increasing the overall efficiency of combustion engines: the turbocompound, thermoelectric converters, and heat engines based on the Rankine cycle. 3. 8. State-of-the-art Integrated Refrigeration Systems in Supermarkets : An Energy Efficiency Evaluation Based on Field Measurements Analysis and Computer Simulations

    Författare :Mazyar Karampour; Samer Sawalha; Björn Palm; Silvia Minetto; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Carbon dioxide CO2 ; Supermarket; Supermarket refrigeration; Trans-critical cycle; Field meas-urements; Computer simulation; System integration; State-of-the-art; Heat recovery; Air condi-tioning; Reference HFC system; Geothermal energy storage; Energiteknik; Energy Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Supermarkets have become a vital feature of modern society. However, they have significant impact on the environment due to the large amount of refrigerants needed in the refrigeration system, and due to the large energy use in the supermarket, they are the commercial buildings with highest energy intensity. 4. 9. System studies of the use of industrial excess heat

    Författare :Sarah Broberg Viklund; Magnus Karlsson; Mats Söderström; Semida Silveira; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; excess heat; waste heat; surplus heat; energy systems; greenhouse gas emissions; energy efficiency; energy policy; system studies;

    Sammanfattning : Energy, materials, and by-products, can be exchanged between companies, having positive effects in the form of improved resource efficiency, environmental benefits, and economic gains. One such energy stream that can be exchanged is excess heat, that is, heat generated as a by-product during, for example, industrial production. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Ash transformation during thermochemical conversion of agricultural biomass in entrained flow conditions

    Författare :Samarthkumar Pachchigar; Marcus Öhman; Markus Broström; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Agricultural biomass; entrained flow conditions; combustion; ash transformation; Si recovery; P recovery; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Agricultural biomass is considered a prospective renewable feedstock in the energy conversion units. Despite its widespread availability, agricultural biomass is often underutilized in the thermochemical processes due to its high ash content. LÄS MER
