31. Molecular mechanisms in synaptic vesicle recycling
Sammanfattning : Neurons communicate through specialized contacts called synapses, which consist of pre- and postsynaptic compartments separated by a narrow synaptic cleft. The stimulus- dependent rapid influx of calcium ions into the presynaptic compartment induces fusion of neurotransmitter-filled vesicles with the plasma membrane and release of their content into the synaptic cleft. 32. Economic efficiency in waste management and recycling
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four self-contained papers that all deal with economic efficiency issues with respect to recycling behavior and waste management policies. Paper [1] provides an econometric analysis of the most important determinants of inter-country differences in waste paper recovery and utilization rates. LÄS MER
33. Flotation chemistry of complex sulphide ores : recycling of process water and flotation selectivity
Sammanfattning : Recycling of flotation effluents through the ore processing plant is one of the ways of reducing both plant-operating costs and industrial impact onto the local ecosystem. Such waters named acid mine drainage (AMD), if discharged from sulphide flotation are gypsum (CaSO4.H2O) saturated and have a high salinity (on the order of 1000 ppm). LÄS MER
34. Ash Products for Nutrient Recycling in Forestry : Leaching and Drying Characteristics
Sammanfattning : As the demand for carbon dioxide neutral energy sources increases, forestry becomes more intensive. Entire trees are removed from the felling sites threatening the nutrient balance of the forest soils. LÄS MER
35. Recycling process water in complex sulphide ore flotation
Sammanfattning : An approach to environmental sustainability and improved process economy in sulphide minerals production is recycling of process water in flotation of complex sulphide ores. However process water chemistry may be a critical issue to flotation efficiency. Process water discharged from sulphide flotation circuits are usually gypsum (CaSO4. LÄS MER
