31. Semiconductor Quantum Optics at Telecom Wavelengths
Sammanfattning : Quantum technologies are an expanding field in physics and engineering concerning the development of protocols and devices that enable augmented or novel applications based on quantum mechanics. This includes amongst others quantum computation and quantum communication. LÄS MER
32. Photonic multipartite entanglement : Generation, measurement and applications
Sammanfattning : We are currently witnessing a fundamental change in the field of quantum information, whereby protocols and experiments previously performed in university labs are now being implemented in real-world scenarios, and a strong commercial push for new and reliable applications is contributing significantly in advancing fundamental research. In this thesis and related included papers, I first look at a keystone of quantum science, Bell's theorem. LÄS MER
33. Quantum acoustics with propagating phonons
Sammanfattning : Surface acoustic waves (SAWs) are mechanical vibrations that propagate on the surface of solids while dissipating little power, consequently enabling them to propagate freely over long distances. The speed and wavelength of SAWs are reduced a five order of magnitude compared to when light is used as a carrier at gigahertz frequencies. LÄS MER
34. Ensembles and Open Quantum Systems in Polaritonic Chemistry
Sammanfattning : Optical cavities—where spatial confinement can focus electromagnetic excitations—are able to couple matter to light with enough strength that the behaviour of the combined system is best understood in terms of polaritonic states; mixtures of excitations in both light and matter. This polaritonic regime provides a novel approach for modification and control of chemical reactions, and lately, experimental advancements are realising this potential. LÄS MER
35. Bell tests and the no-signalling assumption
Sammanfattning : Bell's theorem was originally meant for testing fundamental properties of Nature, namely local realism. However, through the years it has become a powerful device for certifying encryption security, randomness, and entanglement among other properties. LÄS MER
