  1. 6. Models and Methods for Analysis and Improvementof Physical Work Environments

    Författare :Linda Rose; Roland Örtengren; Mats Ericson; Bengt Nordgren; Per Odenrick; Division of Human Factors Engineering Department of Product abd Production Development Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ergonomics; economics; risk management; work-related personal injuries; construction industry; fatigue reactions; EMG; endurance; recovery; modelling.;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis concerning work-related personal injuries was to obtain knowledge bases for two purposes. The first was to develop a model, the Ergo-Index, for use when comparing work situations regarding ergonomics and time aspects and choosing the most favourable working method. LÄS MER

  2. 7. The Fight on the Flights : Emergency evacuations – human physiological performance, leg muscle activity and gait biomechanics during exhaustive stair and slope ascent

    Författare :Amitava Halder; Ergonomi och aerosolteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Stair climbing evacuation; Physical work capacity; Physiological constraints; Endurance; Energy expenditure; Oxygen consumption; Electromyography; Muscle fatigue; Incline gait biomechanics; Ground reaction forces; Required coefficient of friction;

    Sammanfattning : Physical exhaustion can constrain stair ascending capacity during emergency evacuation. The overall aim of this research was to explore and compare stair ascending capacities and physiological limitations when using two different modes: 1) self-preferred pace on three different public stairways, and 2) four machine-controlled paces on a stair machine corresponding to different percentages of maximal aerobic capacity (V̇O2max). 3. 8. Strength training for physical performance and injury prevention in sports. Individualised and supervised training for female athletes

    Författare :Sofia Augustsson Ryman; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Strength training; Physical performance; Functional tests; Strenght assessment; Injury prevention; Physical coach; Young female athletes; Volleyball;

    Sammanfattning : The overall purpose of this thesis was to obtain knowledge about individualised, supervised strength and conditioning programmes for physical performance and injury prevention in female athletes. Data are presented both on the influence of individualisation and supervision during resistance training for physical performance and injury prevention and on the athletes’ experience of resistance training and the role of the physical coach. 4. 9. Physical Exercise in Cystic Fibrosis -studies on muscle strength, oxygen uptake and lung function in young adult patients

    Författare :Margareta E Sahlberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Lung function; muscle strength; exercise capacity; endurance; resistance training;

    Sammanfattning : Muscular strength, lung function and exercise capacity are internationally reported to be markedly impaired in adult patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). Since 20 years physical exercise is one important part in the treatment of patients with CF in Sweden. Handgrip strength is reported to relate to nutrition and activity of daily living. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Physical Fitness in Hospitalized Frail Elderly Patients

    Författare :Kristina Åhlund; Maria Bäck; Niklas Ekerstad; Birgitta Öberg; Lars Nyberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physical fitness; frailty; in-hospital care; comprehensive geriatric assessment;

    Sammanfattning : Demographic research shows that the proportion of older people in society is increasing. More people age well, but there are also more people getting old with disability and multimorbidity. The large diversity in functioning illustrates the heterogeneity of aging. LÄS MER
