  1. 31. Exercising the brain in pain : using fMRI to investigate intrinsic connectivity, cognition and pain regulation in fibromyalgia and how this is affected by physical exercise

    Författare :Sofia Martinsen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of the studies of this thesis were to use functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate cerebral activation patterns in fibromyalgia (FM) patients and healthy controls (HC) at rest, when performing the stroop colour word test (SCWT) and during pressure pain provocation. Distraction induced analgesia (DIA), performance on the SCWT and pressure pain sensitivity was investigated on the behavioural and psychophysical level. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Genetic and immunological control of human myasthenia gravis

    Författare :Xiaoyan Zhao; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Myasthenia Gravis MG ; beta2-adrenergic receptor beta2-AR ; CCR2; CCR5; cytolytic T lymphocyte-associated antigen-4 CTLA-4 ; OX40;

    Sammanfattning : Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a classical autoimmune disease characterized by muscle weakness due to an immune attack against the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (AChR) on the post-synaptic membrane of the neuromuscular junction. Because of the involvement of multiple factors in the disease, the overall aims of this thesis were to uncover the regulation of candidate genes and the possible cellular mechanisms involved in the immuno-regulation of human MG.
