  1. 6. Paleoproterozoic deformation in the Kiruna‑Gällivare area in northern Norrbotten, Sweden : Setting, character, age, and control of iron oxide-apatite deposits

    Författare :Joel Andersson; Tobias Bauer; Olof Martinsson; Nicholas Oliver; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kiruna; Gällivare; structural geology; Paleoproterozoic; deformation; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis covers the structural evolution of the Kiruna‑Gällivare area in the northern Norrbotten ore province, Sweden. The study area hosts several economically significant iron oxide-apatite (IOA) deposits and includes the type locality for this ore type. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Development of Natural Mineral Composites for Low-Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

    Författare :Chen Xia; Andrew R. Martin; Peter Lund; Yongdan Li; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Natural hematite; Natural rare-earth; LT-SOFCs; composite electrolytes; material characterization; conductivity; electrochemical performance.; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have attracted growing attention worldwide because of their high conversion efficiency and low emissions when paired with clean fuel sources. Currently, reducing the temperature of SOFC to a low-temperature (LT) range is a mainstream trend of SOFC research. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Nanomagnetic and Micromagnetic Properties of Rocks Minerals and Sulphide Oxidation Products

    Författare :Erik Eneroth; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; physical geography; Geology; multi-domain; single-domain; ilmenite; magnetite; maghemite; hematite; pyrite; marcasite; fysisk geografi; Geologi;

    Sammanfattning : Magnetic and related properties of rocks and products from oxidation of sulphide minerals have been investigated with magnetisation measurements (rocks and oxidation products), magnetic force microscopy (rocks), scanning electron microscopy (rocks and oxidation products), transmission electron microscopy (oxidation products), Mössbauer spectroscopy (oxidation products) and powder X-ray diffraction (oxidation products). The investigations have shown the following: During thermal oxidation of pyrite (cubic FeS2) and marcasite (orthorombic FeS2) in air, nano-crystals of a-Fe2O3 and g-Fe2O3 were formed. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Microbial adhesion and surface modifications of sulphide minerals relevant to flotation and flocculation

    Författare :Annamaria Vilinska; Ponisseril Somasundaran; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Sammanfattning : Biological processes have been attracting attention in mineral processing industry due to their lower operating costs, environmental acceptability and flexibility in adaptation. Bio-hydrometallurgical methods to treat various sulphide and oxide ores have been developed during the years and these processes have been adopted by certain mineral industries. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Geophysical targeting of Fe-oxide Cu-Au deposits in the northern fennoscandian sheild

    Författare :Alessandro Sandrin; Satu Mertanen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tillämpad geofysik; Applied Geophysics; Exploration Geophysics; Prospekteringsgeofysik;

    Sammanfattning : In the last decades Fe-Oxide Cu-Au deposits have been discovered and developed in Australia, South America and Canada. This class of mineral deposits is also present in northern Sweden and thus represents a potential target for improving the mineral production of the country. LÄS MER
