  1. 6. Towards a methodology for integrated design of mechatronic servo systems

    Författare :Fredrik Roos; Jan Wikander; Hans Johansson; Hendrik van Brussel; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mechatronics; Servo Systems; Design Methodology; Integrated Design; Construction engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Traditional methods for mechatronics design are often based on a sequential approach, where the mechanical structure is designed first, and then fitted with off-the-shelf electric motors, drive electronics, gearheads and sensors. Finally a control system is designed and optimized for the already existing physical system. LÄS MER

  2. 7. On integrated modularization in heavy-duty truck architecting

    Författare :David Williamsson; Ulf Sellgren; Anders Söderberg; Johan Malmqvist; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Modularization; Module; Product Architecture; Cyber-Physical System; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Sammanfattning : Road transports face increasing challenges with respect to safety, legislations on lower emissions and traffic congestion, as well as numerous business challenges related to paradigm shifts in technology, tightened delivery times and cost constraints. Combination of truck electrification and automation may be utilized to address some of these issues. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Road transports face increasing societal challenges with respect to emissions, safety, and traffic congestion, as well as business challenges. Truck automation, e.g. self-driving trucks may be utilized to address some of these issues. LÄS MER

  4. 9. The Structure of Chinese Timber Architecture Twelfth century design standards and construction principles

    Författare :Qinghua Guo; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; units of measurement; design standards; timber structure; Chinese architecture; building patterns; carpentry system; construction principles; proportion; modular design;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the building standards and construction principles prescribed and used in the construction of state buildings of the Song Dynasty (960 - 1279), China, from the viewpoint of architectural design. It aims to answer three fundamental questions: (1) What measuring system was used in the carpentry design and construction? (2) What building scales and proportions were prescribed for and used in state buildings of the time? (3) What were the interrelations of the structural patterns and roof types, and what were their relationships to the building scales and proportions? The thesis begins by providing detailed explanations of the highly refined and unique Song period modular system which governed not only the sizes of each individual elements, but also the dimensions of structural grids and the proportion of entire building. 5. 10. On design methods for mechatronics : servo motor and gearhead

    Författare :Fredrik Roos; Jan Wikander; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Applied mechanics; mechatronics design methodology; servo systems; electric motors; gears; auxiliary systems; Teknisk mekanik; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : The number of electric powered sub-systems in road-vehicles is increasing fast. This development is primarily driven by the new and improved functionality that can be implemented with electro-mechanical sub-systems, but it is also necessary for the transition to electric and hybrid-electric drive trains.
