11. On the Nature of Cemented Carbide Wear in Rock Drilling
Sammanfattning : WC/Co cemented carbide is a composite material for highly demanding wear applications. The unique combination of hardness (from the WC-phase) and toughness (from the binder Co) gives a material especially suitable for rock drilling. LÄS MER
12. Surface Characterisation Using ToF-SIMS, AES and XPS of Silane Films and Organic Coatings Deposited on Metal Substrates
Sammanfattning : This work focuses on the surface and interfacial characterisation of silane films of a non-organofunctional silane, 1,2-bis(triethoxysilyl)ethane (BTSE), and an organofunctional silane, γ-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (γ-MPS), deposited on Al, Zn and Al-43.4Zn-1.6Si (AlZn) alloy coated steel. 13. Modelling and strength grading of structural timber and glulam lamellae on the basis of optical scanning and dynamic excitation
Sammanfattning : Machine strength grading of sawn timber is a sawmill process in which density, modulus of elasticity (MOE) and bending or tensile strength are predicted such that the timber can be assigned to strength classes. The predictions of these properties are performed using one or several so-called indicating properties (IPs), which represent a board property, or combination of board properties, measured non-destructively. 14. Surface Engineering in Sheet Metal Forming
Sammanfattning : In recent years, surface engineering techniques have been developed in order to improve the tribological performance in many industrial applications. In sheet metal forming processes, the usage of liquid lubricants can be decreased by using self lubricated tribo surfaces which will result in more environmentally friendly workshops. LÄS MER
15. Galling of high strength steels and stainless steels in sheet metal forming as evaluated using pin-on-disc testing
Sammanfattning : The thesis focuses on the problem galling in sheet metal forming operations. Galling occurs when sheet metal transfers from the sheet surface onto the tool surface and causes surface damages to following sheets in the forming operation. When this happens the tool must be replaced causing production stops and additional expenses. LÄS MER
