  3. 8. Modelling and inference of relative collision safety in cars

    Författare :Anna Vadeby; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Collision; Mathematical model; Head on collision; Injury; Risk; Car; 91 Road: Vehicle design and construction; 91 Road: Vehicle design and construction; 85 Road: Personal injuries; 85 Road: Personal injuries;

    Sammanfattning : We propose a new mathematical model for relative collision safety in cars. Our present research is restricted to head-on crashes between two cars and we try to determine how much of the injury risk in a crash that depends on car model. The relative risks include the driver populations of the different car models. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Mathematical modelling approach to collective decision-making

    Författare :Natalia Zabzina; Denis Gaidashev; Torbjörn Lundh; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :collective behaviour; collective decision-making; communication mechanisms; positive feedback; mathematical modelling; bifurcation phenomena; steady state solutions; symmetry breaking; symmetry restoring; diffusion-limited aggregation; fractal dimension;

    Sammanfattning : In everyday situations individuals make decisions. For example, a tourist usually chooses a crowded or recommended restaurant to have dinner. Perhaps it is an individual decision, but the observed pattern of decision-making is a collective phenomenon. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Mathematical modelling and Problem Solving in Engineering Education

    Författare :Tabassum Jahan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : Background Innovation and technology have made the 21st century engineering workplace problems more diverse and challenging. Mathematical modelling is being increasingly used as the primary form of engineering design and is fundamental in everyday engineering problem solving. LÄS MER
