  1. 6. Wind Turbine Noise and Natural Sounds : Masking, Propagation and Modeling

    Författare :Karl Bolin; Mats Åbom; Jens Forssén; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wind turbine noise; models of natural sound sources; masking; Acoustics; Akustik;

    Sammanfattning : Wind turbines are an environmentally friendly and sustainable power source. Unfortunately, the noise impact can cause deteriorated living conditions for nearby residents. The audibility of wind turbine sound is influenced by ambient sound. This thesis deals with some aspects of noise from wind turbines. LÄS MER

  2. 7. System-Level Analysis and Design under Uncertainty

    Författare :Ivan Ukhov; Zebo Peng; Petru Ion Eles; Jian-Jia Chen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : One major problem for the designer of electronic systems is the presence of uncertainty, which is due to phenomena such as process and workload variation. Very often, uncertainty is inherent and inevitable. If ignored, it can lead to degradation of the quality of service in the best case and to severe faults or burnt silicon in the worst case. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Calculations of Linear and Nonlinear Optical Properties of Ionic Crystal Surfaces and Fullerenes

    Författare :Erik Westin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Electronic and optical properties of ionic crystal surfaces and fullerenes have been studied by means of cluster calculations based on the Local Density Approximation (LDA) method using a numerical LCAO approach. The calculations for the bulk, stoichiometric and non-stoichiometric (111) surfaces of the divalent ionic crystals, CaF2 and BaF2, were based on the construction of an appropriate cluster of Ba++/Ca++ and F- ions representing a local environment of the specific system. 4. 9. Mechanism-based flow stress model for Ti-6Al-4V : applicable for simulation of additive manufacturing and machining

    Författare :Bijish Babu; Lars-Erik Lindgren; Jean-Philippe Ponthot; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Material modeling; Ti-6Al-4V; dislocation density; vacancy concentration; additive manufacturing; hot forming; heat treatment; Material Mechanics; Materialmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Ti-6Al-4V has remarkable properties such as high specific mechanical properties (viz. stiffness, strength, toughness, fatigue resistance), corrosion resistance, biocompatibility etc. These properties make it attractive for applications in aerospace, chemical industry, energy production, surgical implants, etc. LÄS MER
