  1. 6. Catanionic Surfactant Mixtures and Binary Systems of Modified Fatty Acid Surfactants. Phase Equilibria and Structure

    Författare :Malin Bydén Sjöbom; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; coacervation; asymmetry; bile salt; didodecyldimethylammonium bromide; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; catanionic surfactant mixture; intermediate phase; a-methylsubstituted sodium carboxylate; dodecylpyridinium bromide; ionic surfactant; polarizing microscopy; FT-PGSE self-diffusion; 2H NMR; SAXS; liquid crystal; micelle; phase equilibria; phase diagram;

    Sammanfattning : Surfactant self-assembly is an important phenomenon that occurs in a number of processes in our everyday life. It is important to understand the forces and parameters that control and influence the self-assembly, as this knowledge can be used both in order to design surfactant systems with desired properties and for creating model systems, for example for biological processes. 2. 7. Tailoring of Liquid Phase Sintering and Microstructure of Sintered Steel

    Författare :Walid Khraisat; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermodynamics and persistent liquid; ferrous powder; liquid forming additives; liquid phase sintering; high speed steel powder;

    Sammanfattning : The present study intends to interpret the effects of alloying elements on microstructure and mechanical properties via liquid phase sintering of iron and steel powders. The tools involved are thermodynamic modelling, tailoring of powder properties and processing, and optimisation of sintering. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Liquid-Jet-Target Microfocus X-Ray Sources : Electron Guns, Optics and Phase-Contrast Imaging

    Författare :Tomi Tuohimaa; Hans M. Hertz; Stephen Wilkins; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electron-impact; x-ray; brightness; liquid-jet-target; phase-contrast imaging; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : This Thesis describes the development of an electron-impact microfocus x-ray source and its application for phase-contrast imaging. The source is based on a novel, liquid-jet target concept. Stable and continuous operation can be achieved at substantially higher electron-beam power densities than conventional solid target based systems. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Liquid-Phase Exfoliation of Two-Dimensional Materials : Applications, deposition methods and printed electronics on paper

    Författare :Viviane Forsberg; Magnus Norgren; Luis Miguel Pereira Nunes; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :molybdenum disulfide MoS2 ; transition metal dichalcogenide TMD ; thin films; inkjet printing; 2D inks; liquid-phase exfoliation; shear exfoliation; printed electronics; organic electronics; PEDOT:PSS; photoresponse; photocurrent; cathodoluminescence;

    Sammanfattning : After the unprecedented success of graphene research, other materials that can also be exfoliated into thin layers, like Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) such as molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), have also become the subjects of extensive studies. As one of the most promising methods for large scale production of such materials, liquid-phase exfoliation (LPE) has also been the subject of extensive research and is maturing as a field to the point that devices using additive manufacturing and printed nanosheets are often reported. 5. 10. Multi-Level Lossless Phase Modulation in Liquid Crystals for High-Speed Spatial Light Modulators

    Författare :David Engström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phase measurements; polarization; phase modulation; beam steering; Spatial light modulators; diffractive optics; ferroelectric liquid crystals;

    Sammanfattning : The spatial light modulator (SLM) is a compact device that enables highly precise control of light propagation with low drive voltages and no moving parts. By imposing a certain phase modulation onto the incident lightwave, functions such as multi-beam steering, beam shaping, and air turbulence corrections can be achieved in realtime. LÄS MER
