  1. 1. Extended Jaynes-Cummings Models In Cavity Qed

    Författare :Jonas Larson; Stig Stenholm; Peter L. Knight; KTH; []

    Sammanfattning : Due to the improvement within cavity quantum electrodynamics experiments during the last decades, what was former seen as 'toy models' are today realized in laboratories. A controlled isolated coherent evolution of one or a few atoms coupled to a single mode inside a cavity is achievable. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Time dependent processes incavity QED

    Författare :Jonas Larson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :cavity QED; state preparation; non-classical; Jaynes-Cummings model; Fock state; measurement;

    Sammanfattning : Cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) has become one of themost successful tools for quantum information processing, butalso for the study of other pure quantum effects. In thisthesis we investigate one such system, the micromaser; an atomtraverse a cavity and interacts with the quantized modes of thecavity field. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Genetic and Genomic Studies in Chicken : Assigning Function to Vertebrate Genes

    Författare :Jonas Eriksson; Leif Andersson; Greger Larson; Göran Hjälm; Tosso Leeb; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Chicken; BCO2; TSHR; COMTD1; Phenotypic variation; Domestication; Selective sweeps; Pigmentation; Molekylär genetik; Molecular Genetics;

    Sammanfattning : A major challenge in the post-genomic era is to understand how genome sequence variants (genotype) give rise to the enormous diversity observed in terms of morphology, physiology and behavior (phenotype) among living organisms. Domestic animals—with their tremendous phenotypic variation—are excellent model organisms for determining the relationships between genotype and phenotype. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Quantum properties of light and matter in one dimension

    Författare :Axel Gagge; Jonas Larson; Jack Lidmar; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis concerns topics in non-interacting and interacting quantum physics in one dimension. We present the notions of Wannier functions and tight-binding models. Quantum walks are discussed, quantum mechanical analogues to random walks. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Comparisons between classical and quantum mechanical nonlinear lattice models

    Författare :Peter Jason; Magnus Johansson; Jonas Larson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Discrete Breathers; Bose-Einstein-Condensation; Instabilities; Oscillatory Instabilities; Classical-Quantum correspondence; Bose-Hubbard model; DNLS; discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation; nonlinear; nonlinear lattice models; compacton;

    Sammanfattning : In the mid-1920s, the great Albert Einstein proposed that at extremely low temperatures, a gas of bosonic particles will enter a new phase where a large fraction of them occupy the same quantum state. This state would bring many of the peculiar features of quantum mechanics, previously reserved for small samples consisting only of a few atoms or molecules, up to a macroscopic scale. LÄS MER
