16. Studies of Elastomer Matrix Flow Mechanisms in Nonwoven Reinforced Composites
Sammanfattning : The general aim of this work was to develop a suitable technique for fabricating elastomer composites based on three-dimensional fibrous materials and to study the rheological behavior of matrix polymer in these structures with varied structural and fiber surface characteristics. A new type of mold was developed and tested for structural reaction injection molding (SRIM) of elastomer composites having polymer matrices made from a mixture of two components. LÄS MER
17. Multiscale Constitutive Modeling of Heterogeneous Engineering Materials
Sammanfattning : This work deals with different methods used to determine heterogeneous constitutive model parameters for macro-scale finite element models, based on microstructural variations, caused by the manufacturing process. These methods could be applied to decrease modeling errors associated with the material behavior, improving the predictive capabilities of structural analyses in simulation-driven industrial product development. 18. Filler Controlled Morphology in Polymer Blends
Sammanfattning : The morphology of a polymer blend can be altered very dramatically when a filler is added. Depending on the mutual interactions of the polymers and their individual interactions with the filler, many different filler distributions are possible. LÄS MER
19. On Deterministic feature-based Surface Analysis
Sammanfattning : Manufacturing sector is continuously identifying opportunities to streamline production, reduce waste and improve manufacturing efficiency without compromising product quality. Continuous improvement has been the primary objective to produce acceptable quality products and meet dynamic customer demands by using advanced techniques and methods. LÄS MER
20. Geometric Variation Simulation for the Development of Products with Plastic Components
Sammanfattning : Every manufactured product deviates from the intended product. Furthermore, in a series of products geometrical variation is always present. This variation will lead to functional and aesthetical variation of the product. Geometrical variation stems from variation in the manufacturing of parts and fixtures and variation in assembly operations. LÄS MER
