  1. 11. Large Eddy Simulation of Turbulent Reactive Flows under HCCI Engine Conditions

    Författare :Tobias Joelsson; Strömningsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Large Eddy Simulation (LES) modeling is developed to study homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) combustion under different engine operation and mixture conditions, including real engine configurations and generic test cases. A previously developed HCCI model has been validated by comparing the simulation results with engine experiments. LÄS MER

  2. 12. A Study of Mach 0.75 Jets and Their Radiated Sound Using Large-Eddy Simulation

    Författare :Niklas Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Jet noise; CAA; LES; Large Eddy Simulation; Computational Aero-Acoustics;

    Sammanfattning : Large-Eddy Simulations (LES) of a compressible nozzle/jet configuration have been carried out. Two jets were simulated, an isothermal jet and a jet with a higher temperature than the surrounding air. The Mach number was in both cases 0.75 and the jet Reynolds number was 50,000. LÄS MER

  3. 13. A Combustion Concept for Future Heavy-Duty Diesel Engines

    Författare :Tobias Husberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Diesel combustion; Common rail; Diesel engines; Multiple injections; Combustion concept; Heavy-duty;

    Sammanfattning : The Diesel engine has been intensively developed by manufacturers and researchers since 1892, when it was invented. However, the direction of its development has shifted in recent years.Environmental issues are becoming increasingly important in our society, prompting more efforts to be put into making the engines cleaner. 4. 14. A representative interactive linear-eddy-model (RILEM) for simulating spray combustion

    Författare :Tim Lackmann; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; engine simulation; turbulent combustion; regime independent;

    Sammanfattning : Engine development aims at reducing pollutant emissions (e.g. NOx , soot,UHC) while maintaining high efficiencies. Detailed experimental resultsin combination with precise numerical predictions are of great importancein order to develop combustion systems for new clean and efficient inter-nal combustion engines. 5. 15. Transient Spray Mode Fuel Injection

    Författare :Lokesh Mopuri; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; clogged nozzle; non-evaporative and reactive spray; thimble structure; Spray characteristics;

    Sammanfattning : This research examines the pivotal role of transient fuel spray in internal combustion engines, primarily focusing on their influence on dual-fuel (DF) engines. In the case of dual-fuel (DF) engines functioning in a gas mode, the controlling of the primary fuel’s ignition is usually managed through the direct injection of liquid pilot fuel. LÄS MER
