   Sammanfattning : Background: There is a lack of evidence-based, prospective studies in treatment of nasal polyposis. The correlations between symptoms, polyp scores and computed tomography (CT) scans have not been studied sufficiently. Little, if any, sense of smell is common in nasal inflammatory disease. LÄS MER

Moreover, more than half of the patients with carcinoma of the esophageal or gastric cardia diagnosed in Sweden present with an advanced disease where the only available treatment is palliation.    Sammanfattning : A cross-sectional study of the whole female population of ages 61, 71 and 81 years in a defined part of Sweden was undertaken to investigate the prevalence and severity of postmenopausal symptoms, especially lower genital tract disorders, and to relate their symptoms to reported oestrogen replacement therapy (ERT) (studies I and II). A new substance for endoscopic treatment of urinary incontinence, dextranomers in hyaluronan, (DiHA), was monitored experimentally in terms of tissue reaction, volume changes, DNA changes (study III), and possible migration of particles to distant organs (study IV).    Sammanfattning : Background: Many endoscopists have since the beginning of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) commented on the variation in the macroscopic appearance of the papilla of Vater.    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to study treatment of inflammatory bowel disease with respect to an acute severe attack of ulcerative colitis and endoscopic balloon dilation in stricturing Crohn’s disease.A retrospective follow-up was made in 158 patients who were given intensive intravenous corticosteroid treatment due a severe, moderate, or mild attack of ulcerative colitis between 1975 and 1982.
